I just think they'd get at least twice as much good publicity from users if they had done English version of the web site as well and made the registration work.

I guess it depends on if they were really truly ready for the masses to come. As it's their first venture into the sampling world, they may not have anticipated these things. But it seems that things have gotten slightly better, so maybe they are working on it. I don't think they have massively marketed this quite yet, so we'll see.

International forums like KVR probably brought them lots of unexpted downloaders. Still in registration when they asked where did you hear about this offer, all web sites you could select were from Germany I think. It seems that many companies don't quite understand how internationally social media works. When there is a good offer somewhere, people don't care much if it's in this country or that country.

The first half of my download only went at about 1/3 of my full speed, but then it picked up. It's nearly 5GB in size, so however long that takes your connection. 9 hours doesn't surprise me, at least if you have DSL or something midrange like that.

30mb fibre-optic broadband, that's why i was a bit surprised, unless i've been capped. Servers probably are getting a heavy load though so i'll leave it a few days. :)

Overnight/early morning UK time seemed pretty good when I grabbed the library yesterday. I'm impressed they're not dying - but I guess it's not that popular a product... ;)

Then again, another reason for pushing it to DE only rather than world wide might have been to keep server load down.

Isn't it! :)

The activation code is all you need, you just enter it in the NI Service Center application.
Thanks Shy

Is there any way to install this on XP?

How does one register if one doesn't speak German? When I translate the page, it takes me back to the first registration page. Then when I go to the next page it's in German again? Very frustrating.

Post

They may very well be working on an english translation of the system, but it does seem a little counter-intuitive.

didn't see that behavior at all using chrome and the built in translator... it translated each page fine and when I hit next the next page appeared already translated as well...

Yeah, Chrome seems to work the best for continued translation. The problem is that the page is dynamically generated, and the URL itself doesn't change. Many translators refresh the page each time they translate, which would refresh you back to the default page. Chrome translates text on the fly without refreshing each page. So definitely try it in Chrome.

Registration done, downloading now... 8)

Sadly my TrapKAT is in surgery (the bass trigger input isn't triggering), so I'll not be getting to actually really play this for a while :(. However, did get to try out the grooves and mic combinations. As ever with grooves, I wish they were a bit longer with more variation in dynamics - particularly in a product like this. Despite that minor quibble, I was able to swap mics around and use the mixer to adjust the sound and... well, for $0.00, it's utterly gorgeous. Of course, I still have to see how it plays "for real".

I was getting that with FF, until I 'opened a new tab' found the appropraite 'google translater' page I wanted', saved that page on my task-bar to get to it quickly, and would then copy/paste any word or phrase easily to it, without losing the reg page I was on.

The name/address (street, city, state, zipcode, and country) for the US is really arranged differently than how "we" normally would put it, so it was (ummm) interesting.
