Cubase 7.06 is out

Just got home... will see if I can take a closer look at the Steinberg's power energy modes, though I remember it not working at all for me. Same with the MMCSS switch (as mentioned earlier).

As assumed, no difference if I use the Power Energy Mode, only that it messes with my rig.

Cubase was always running at 130W (full load of my i7 920) before I used the switch. Stuff like Firefox at half load (actually 50W). No fluctuations.

After the switch (which is now off again), everything is at 100% load. So that switch messes more with my system than it's helping.


It didn't make any difference either if I lowered the latency (sample buffer). 128 and 256 perform about the same over here.

Still no solution to a much bigger problem!



Regarding weird load with WoS III, I'm in touch with the developers - and they can not confirm why this is happening either.

Hey, can anyone tell me how Cubase 7 performance is on a mac? How would it compare vs. Live 9? or even Studio One pro 2.5?

I'm currently demoing S1 free edition and Cubase elements now that it's available and am trying to choose which DAW I'll buy.

Quick edit: Hell I'd even like to know how it stacks up to Logic Pro X cpu wise. I still haven't completely ruled LX out, but I will admit I'm not too interested in it.
