It's about 3s, and release over 30.

Maybe there is a quiet tail for 1 or 2 seconds, but the useful part seem to last only for 1 second, when decay is set to max. Else even shorter...

 Also the Attack is very short compared with Retrologue and Hybrid!

It seems there is a lot to update :hihi:
Yes, I will keep an eye on it and check for updates :) It feels rather immediate, for instance the way one can combine two very different filters and experiment. I like that...
Indeed, there are many kinds of very good filters (also there are formant and comb!). It is faster than other similar synths to get the results. It sounds different also from Retrologue (although still Retrologue my favourite analog soft synth, but Sunrizer is very near behind).
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yes, and those sliders have an "unusual" scaling somehow

Do you mean the measurements? I noticed they are mostly from 0 to 1 while in other synths they are more useful (like in ms for decay or Hz for frequency).

No, I don't even remember that, didn't pay attention to the units :) I meant the resolution of the attack for instance. The attack is one of the most critical phases, so I would like to see more of the slider travel dedicated to short attacks. With slow attacks resolution is not so important.
But the same also goes for decay and release...

Did you set the envelopes to linear instead of "snappy"? It's just a thought though, didn't check whether that would really give you the impression of a longer decay.

Post

Yes, tried both, didn't make that much of a difference in my view.

Never mind, uninstalled it for the time being...

Yes I understand. It has 100 but I hope there is a fine tuning by pressing shift + drag.
I also don't remember if there is a way to set the parameter to the default position (by double clicking or CTRL + click?) I will check when I be home.
Anyway, I still think it's a great synth. Mostly I will make classic or bread and butter presets which sunrizer can be great at. The price of $50 is great (but honestly I wouldn't buy it for $80, but that's me :D )

You should set "Sustain" to max (or at least something audible)... ;)

P.S. Then you can even set "Decay" to 0...

Yes it has fine tuning :) by pressing Ctrl + dragging (but it doesn't work with mouse wheel). Some few parameters can be set to default position by double clicking like Mix Osc1+2, but most of them no. If I give Retrologue 9/10 rating, sunrizer would be 8/10 then (for $50) which is a high personal rating :)

What is the difference betweeb the iPad and the vst version?

Post

I also have a question: does the VST version support microtuning files (.scl) like the iPad version?

Good question? It seems there are a lot more features in the iOS version.
Mmmhhhh..... now after a while i'm missing some options. Why is there no automation parameter for modwheel. I can't record the moodwheel movements within Logic when i just want to play via the mac keyboard (using the 3-8 number buttons is not smooth). I use not always a master keyboard. Still a great synth but i begin to think that the iOS version is more advanced (beside automations and several instances within the DAW). I hope the AU will catch up here.

Are you saying you can't use more than one instance at a time with the desktop AU? I'm demoing the VST version on PC, haven't tried that yet, just assumed you could, since that's how pretty much every plugin works.
