my entry is up :-o , not my usual style, but fun :D
anyhow, wanted to tell how i did it in this thread. the easiest way to tell about it, is to show it:

here's the song link so you don't have to go over to the submissions thread: far away

idea was first conceived on acoustic guitar, drank some beer, ate some cookies, then suddenly i was in FL Studio and ..........

BIG fruity screengrab

played some guitar and sampled it, thus the wav file at the bottom in fl studio.

next, mixed down to wav, drank some more beer, ate more cookies, and went over to n-track studio......

BIG n-track screengrab

did the final guitar and a shit load of vocal tracks

mixed it all down and had a stomach ache :help:

sorry to make the screen go all big and stuff, only way to show it all  - problem fixed - thx rob

T-Willy -- Wow, does that track take off in a new direction after the intro!!!! Cool! Great stuff, it really needs to be longer than the 2 min for the contest.

Would you consider that to be Tenesse Trance? Based on the speed I'm guessing that the cookies were working better than the beer...
And all life's fears
Can invade my ears
I can handle it

And while the song is done well (not my taste, but that shouldn't matter), what do you mean with "show it all"? You're using sequencers of some sorts - that?
Nor does it show me anything neither would I be happy if I was still on a modem... hell, one reason entry sizes are limited was that modem users should be able to participate as well.
Sorry if this sounds harsh but I hate f**ked up screens in forums when you have to scroll horizontally and as said, 300kb just for two pics telling as much as nothing about any working method... sheesh, I can't even read this page in context without scrolling any more on my net machine.
I have two screens worth 1280x1024 pixels each on just one screenset of what might become my entry for this month...

However, the entry is done well though.

t-willy, for the sake of dialup users, you should remove these big pics from the forum page. Just give us a link, like this and that...

BTW: i like your entry very much

donkey tugger wrote:Aye, nice wee pop song there glooper, your voice reminds me a bit of that bloke fron the inspiral carpets (but it may have just been the 'baggy' rhythm influencing me :D ). Sound a bit hesitant, but in tune. Abit of double tracking in the choruses would have worked well I reckon.
Cheers Donkey...

I was kinda going for that early 90's indie pop thing, inspirals, charlatans type thing...:)

So what sequencers do people use then? I'd not seen N'tracks or FL Studio before. I use Cubase SL, which I think is the only bit of software I've ever bought! ... Oh... except the stuff that comes pre-loaded on your PC.

my ordinary business is done with the following hosts configuration:

Sonar 2.2 (heart of the studio) - FL Studio Dxi - Reason Rewired (if needed)

I downloaded yours but can't seem to open it in any program. How do I convert an Ogg? I have db poweramp but it seems to only convert the other way around.

:)
Yeah, I feared that...
I start to believe that I'm gonna start using mp3 again, since ogg is not spread enough. It's a shame, since ogg audibly sounds a lot better than mp3 on 128kbps. But for the musical language sake ;), everybody should have ogg codec installed.
More information is available at their page
www.vorbis.com
where you can list zillion of progs that support ogg, in any possible OS.
Sorry for the incovinience...

Cheers!
In the begining was nothing...
Which exploded...

1) WinAmp supports OGG
2) WinAmp supports disk streaming to .wav (using the appropriate output DLL)

What does this tell us?
...

(further, there's an option to convert .ogg to whatever in dbpoweramp as well, assuming you got the codec installed)
