Apple provides a free iPad app called Logic Remote. This provides a ton of options for controlling Logic. Among them is full plug-in editing. For Alchemy though, it has the Performance Controls which are nearly identical to Logic's Smart Controls. For all Alchemy sounds, there's a matching smart control that provides touch control over the transform pad and other performance controls. So far, its working really well for me.

To be honest though, my favorite (and admittedly unexpected) feature is the built-in Logic documentation. It sort of works like an ebook reader in a way, except for the page the book is flipped can be controlled by your mouse on the Mac. You point at something in Logic, and Logic Remote instantly flips to the page in the manual that talks about the think your mouse is pointed at. Amazing. I wish more software worked this well.

and they have not taken the opportunity to include either MPE or Midi mono mode.
That's a pain, given that Alchemy was one of the synths that had a readymade setup for the Eigenharp.
I got the Mainstage update on my old MacPro yesterday and too am under the impression that several of the pro features have been cut out - I haven't dug too deep yet though. While I still would prefer to have the full uncrippled Alchemy 2 running on my PC, I no longer envy the mac users much - this isn't too much of an upgrade compared to Alchemy 1 and in some areas it's a downgrade.
I'll be able to use it with Mainstage via rtpmidi from Bitwig on my PC if need should be, not sure if it would be worth the hassle.

As far as I'm concerned RIP Camel Audio.
Alchemy 1 will run as long as it will run.
Something new will come up sooner or later that will surpass it...

Peace, over and out ;-)

Cheers,

Tom

Well, sometimes a funeral is needed for closure... Here is a short eulogy.

Bye Camel... you did more to hurt this plug-in industry for a few pieces of silver.... Bye again...

I tryed now some of my own audio sources and i really like what i can get out of this.
There is not really a much better option out there for me. The rest is creativity...
I can sample in things from other synths etc. and mangle it here further....
You can really do some nice things with all those modulators.

Some people confuse dependence with exclusivity.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I call it just a decision...

Yeah, rather cut that into 10%, seems more likely then. :) Probably even less, but to get integrated into Apple's flagship DAW is the real deal. I mean, after all, they seem to continue working on it...

10 millon? lmao.

doubt it.[/quote]
I have no doubt it was a sum in this region if not more.
This was put out there by Chris from Audio Damage. And that was way before it became common knowledge that it was Apple that had bought them, so it has authenticity as rumours go.

Post

Well that's just crazy then. Camel Audio never ever was worth 10 million.

It was to Apple... Hence NDA andi immediate cease and desist in regards to sales, and support ....
I thought this wa common knowledge...??
their tech including their awesome iPad app are a great bonus to apple , and I think the fruits of this are now showing... A lot quicker than expected

Yes, but those also produce billions of dollars. Camel Audio didn't. And i don't think the professional audio market is nearly as competitive that it's beneficial for Apple to buy them out for such a sum. Well who knows, so there can be only speculations. I only can say that 10 millions seems much to me. I would have thought 2 millions max.
