But if you buy a UVI product with that, then you can sell second hand right?

I mean if you dont register the serial, or authorize it with iLOK there will be no fee for transferring the product to somebody else.
You receive an Serial Number and you must register it inside your account: Serial Number and iLok User Name
If it not registered, i think you can give it do another person

...by the way, maybe a stupid question but any of you knows already if among its zillions internal effects and options there's a way to use it also as vocoder or to add vocoder to sounds/samples?
though I saw obviuosly there's the vowel filter but ain't the same stuff...
Sorry if it's a dumb question
Falcon doesn't have an audio input so it can't vocode, and there is no pseudo-vocoder FX in Falcon either.

(though there were a litle hopes for a new MF version, with discount for upgrade, but now it is not important, at least product is not abandoned).
Now, the main thing that would like to, this is hope of optimization for Ircam samplers engine, because in MF its was be almost unusable (in some modes) in realtime through huge cpu load. Will need to try. But in any case, it is must to have.
IRCAM stretch hasn't changed CPU-wise nor sound-wise.

Oberheim 8000 wrote:It is possible to create own wave in wavetable osc? Something like in Spectral from Linplug with harmonics?
Spectral uses additive synthesis not wavetable, Falcon either plays wavetables (like Serum wavetables with up to 256 single waveforms) or it re-synthesizes images, or it creates single cycle waveforms from wav samples (via drag&drop). But it does not have a wavetable editor, so tables have to be created outside Falcon.

Ok, thanks a lot for the info Simon :)

(strangely they added tons of stuff but not a little vocoding feature )

I would say don't sell Kontakt if you have a use for it. For certain things it's still the way to go. Falcon is a worthy addition, but not a complete replacement, at least IMHO.

Well there was much more on my wishlist they didn't add, but I'm very happy with what they added.

Agreed, as I do use Kontakt in my music and even started a while ago to learn a bit about doing very basic instruments and simple scripting. It's just a matter of cash you know...anyway no hurry I'll get it when I'll be able :).
It's just the news that makes it even more fancy now ;) and surely seems a brilliant piece of software :tu:

Sounds fair, maybe they'll add more stuff in future updates. I just have a personal strong addiction to vocoders in general :D

I went to JRR and was ready to impulse buy it, at $194.65. Alas, it seems I missed the opportunity and it went up in price. Oh well.. The current price probably is still reasonable for an instrument like this, but everything above the 200 mark somehow feels much more expensive to me.

That it surely is!

MachFive 3 had a crossgrade price for those who owned Kontakt - does anyone know if there is something similar available for Falcon?

Post

Should be an upgrade price, it isn't really a crossgrade.

Yep the discount has been removed, Emailed them and got a reply stating that. Probably a mistake.

Well I can resist anything except temptation :)

If Falcon cannot edit wave tables can anyone recommend a tool to create wave tables to import into it?
