I did not mean to disparage anyone with issues. That was not my intent, but if I came across like I was, I apologize.

I just had a thought.
I have loads of plugins on my XP HDD that I intend to migrate to my new W7 SSD install.
Waves Central doesn't work on XP so how am I gonna get the buggers off?

Do you have your licenses on the XP machine currently? If yes, can you start WLC on this machine and move licenses to the cloud?Mushy Mushy wrote:I just had a thought.

Yes for the first question, no for the second.Andy Gone wrote:Do you have your licenses on the XP machine currently? If yes, can you start WLC on this machine and move licenses to the cloud?Mushy Mushy wrote:I just had a thought.

As soon as I open WLC it tells me to download Central and closes immediately.

Then I believe you have two options:Mushy Mushy wrote:Yes for the first question, no for the second.Andy Gone wrote:Do you have your licenses on the XP machine currently? If yes, can you start WLC on this machine and move licenses to the cloud?Mushy Mushy wrote:I just had a thought.

a) call tech support and ask them to retrieve the licenses from your XP machine and move them to the cloud.
b) use license recovery with WC on your new machine.

Thanks for this. I had since discovered the recovery option but am hoping to not "waste" it on something like this.Andy Gone wrote:Then I believe you have two options:

In the FAQs though they say a HDD/OS swap won't cause the computer to forget these licenses which I find quite promising but also optimistic.

Email support. They reset the restore license for me to move out of my OSX 10.6 machine and not have restore option count against. Still not happy I lose my option to use hdd auth on my older machine but they will help.

They have been great in the past.
My other concern is half of them aren't WUP'd and I'll be requesting support on them.

The HDD swap is still a couple weeks away so the support ticket is about 10 days premature.
The message above wasn't really a cry for help, just an "oh bugger" panic attack moment.

This should not be a problem usually. Waves support is very supportiveMushy Mushy wrote:Yep will do.softska wrote:Email support. Ask them, and you still have the recovery option as a last resort.

I used to have this problem on Win 7/64 bit. But I found that Waves Cenral needs a patch from Microsoft to work. (System Requirements / KB2999226)
Once I installed this I was able to "prepare" an off-line installer.
However, once installed, everytime I'd open my DAW (Cubase) I'd get a "find Waves folder" dialog open up. Heaven only knows where I was supposed to point it. Went back tp 9.3.

What do you mean "find Waves folder"? Cubase is not producing such things. If Cubase does not see a plugin, it just silently drops it off. Any chance to see a screenshot? Maybe you mean license missing dialog box?Ayorinde wrote: <...>
