With all due respect, I know I've lost interest in SM3 because of all the teasing - I mean, I've been following it since 2016 (I believe it was announced way before then though) and then you said it would be ready in March of 2018, then end of 2018, then end of 2020, then 1st quarter of 2021, then Q4 of 2022, and now Q4 of 2023...kv331 wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 6:37 am I hope my efforts would pay off in the end, looks like the KVR community is not much interested in SynthMaster developments anymore![]()

Synthmaster ONE likely changed a lot of the original plan for the SM3 development schedule.
I have not lost interest in SynthMaster 3, but I'm not really following or looking forward to comment on development updates and estimated release dates at this point.
Whenever it's out, I'll get it.

Yeah, my case exactly. Eventually I quit waiting because Bulent kept jiving us with the cosmic debris for years. At some point you have to stop messing around and deliver the goods. Sooner rather than later.
So many synth developers over these years of waiting got my money that should otherwise have went to SynthMaster 3 and possible SM3 expansions. But it's not just money, it's momentum that's lost, all the time wasted for naught. I have everything I need for work at this point, SM3 will be out and I'm not interested anymore. The train has left the station.
There is no time left in this day and age to wait for a synth upgrade for a decade almost. That can't be a reasonable expectation on behalf of a modern developer.

Bulent...I wouldn't pay too much attention to the negative comments...
SynthMaster 2 is a really deep and powerful synth that is more than enough for most of us to work with...
It is one of the most feature rich synths on the planet and on a musical level,it delivers the goods in so many ways...
Some of the peeps around here have an unhealthy sense of entitlement and they could do well to have a greater sense of appreciation and gratitude...
If they really want to know about development time cycles, they should look at Zebra 3
Bulent ....Thank you for SynthMaster 2 and the continued development of SynthMaster 3

I appreciate the depth of SynthMaster 2 and the work that has gone into making it one of the most powerful soft synths on the planet....Luka_Kostii wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 11:27 pm Boy, didn't you just dive deep into Bulent's rear hole without lubricant..
Your head and torso are in, but your feet stick out. Should we pull you out or you want try squeeze into it some more? I don't mind, it's your call.
It is one of the two main workhorse synths I use and it would be a coin flip to decide the winner...
Most peeps don't realise just how powerful it is...
But anyway...I have a solid.suggestion for you...
Instead of bitching and moaning about the development cycle of SynthMaster 3,there is a simple solution....
Code your own soft synth
No auto tune...

Fantastic news. Ive been observing SM for a few years but already had some nice HW and soft synths that I was exploring, so I didnt buy SM or SM2. Then I realized I got a free "SM Player" license from somewhere, which gave me the cheap upgrade to SM2. So I just bought SM2 2 weeks ago and I LOOOOOVE IT! There is sooo much to do, the sound quality is very good, the arp and seq stuff is very much to my liking, and there are a few minor bugs.
I would love to see:
1. Mod wheel issue patched. (I still cannot map any mod wheel on any controller to SM2, and it crashes when I try to MIDI learn)
2. SM2 stops making sound sometimes. I will play it for a couple hours, come back, and I find it is quiet and makes no sound. Then I just go to the next preset and then back again, and the sound comes back.
Other than these 2 issues, SM2 is really enjoyable and exciting for me. I find that SM2 + VPS Avenger make a nice team! : )

Looks a little familiar/similar to Vital. What I really find interesting is that Wavetable Editors are not a "product" in itself which could live without a synth, but at the same time can integrate with a synth. And thus each and any developer spends hours creating *the same* stuff for the synth of the own brand. Thinking about "Standard Interfaces" between Synth & WT-Editor it would be cool to be able to do a right click, get a "open with" dialog and select any app that can work with contenttype application/wavetable-2048 ...kv331 wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 3:18 pm Guys I'll do my best to release SM3 without any stowstopper bugs. Right now we are under heavy financial stress to release it before Christmas arrives, I hope we can make it safely...
BTW, here's the latest update on SM3: Now we can load/save wavetables in our our custom "wavetable" format so that all data related to the wavetable is retained. We can also export as 8/16/24/32 bit WAV and import wav/wavetable files via drag-n-drop!

Audio Performance metre redlines.
Does this solution help: https://forums.steinberg.net/t/for-anyo ... -11/159786

20+ year cubase user here, who just switched to Bitwig after DECADES of dealing with steinberg's inability to develop for multithreaded DSP. (The reason for the CLAP protocol)Smasha wrote: Fri Jul 21, 2023 3:37 am Fantastic synth but Cubase does not like it much.
Audio Performance metre redlines.
Hopefully Synthmaster 3 fixes those issues.
Which performance meter redlines? Does the Cubase ASIO internal meter overload when you play Synthmaster? Have you checked to see if your hardware platform, specifically multithreading/CPU virtual cores/CPU power management features(such as speedstep), is supported? The steinberg forums are filled with posts from people experiencing this, and from a variety of plugins.
Depending on which platform (CPU + chipset + BIOS options) you are on, your virtual CPU cores + their power management systems can cause the "ASIO internal overload" issue on Cubase regardless of how powerful your system is, which generate pops/clicks in audio stream regardless of how ASIO Guard or your interface buffer settings are configured. This is an issue going back DECADES with Steinberg.
I can run C12 pro and Bitwig 4 or 5 with Synthmaster2 (and 100s of other) without even hitting 10% CPU / 15% ASIO load because I built FOUR TOTAL SYSTEMS with different hardware platforms to test and resolve this issue. 3 of the platforms I built experience the "meter overloads" and 1 of them does not. I moved on to Bitwig because I got sick and tired of this, and Steinberg is simply not resolving it. Maybe this is why your Synthmaster redlines?
Does anything else redline in your Cubase? Cubase 12?

I think the redline occurs on Windows with Intel Alderlake processors. We received an email/issue regarding this:
"Hi there, for a while Cubase has had an E-Core problem, for example Cubase tries to access the E-Cores before P-Cores creating massive spikes. We discovered with Steinberg by disabling the Steinberg Power Scheme and leaving Windows on high power setting the problem went away by 90%. However I discovered after the latest update of Synthmaster that it is also trying to access the E-Cores first and is causing the worst CPU spikes I have seen, the original solution does not work, I had to use Bitsum Lasso in Ultimate mode to get the CPU back to normality. Not sure if it is just a Cubase thing but all developers need to understand going forward all CPU's will have E-Cores as well as P-Cores. Steinberg already contacted Intel on the issue last year and were told they will need a new API going forward etc. Anyway... thought I would pass this on before u get swamped with support requests from Alderlake owners, cheers, Ryan."

With i7 12700kf I am getting crackles in Cubase 12 Pro.
The Peak Meter in Audio Performance Goes into the Red and then back again like a yo yo and continues that loop and when it redlines, the crackles occur.
The Latest SM 2 And latest Cubase 12 Pro 12.0.70 update.
I will try those older versions.
In Reaper,no problems at all, works fine ,no audio performance issues.
P.S. I could not restore my bought expansions with the dropbox version of SM 2 you provided me.
I will have to just use the synth standalone or in Reaper from now on.
No go in Cubase unless there is a setting I need to check or uncheck?
