Ok thats got it. To me, it wasn't immediately apparent that you have to view the vst midi out as a global context. I was not setting the vst input correctly, as I was looking for a specific input source. "VST" input sources are not managed, only targets. IME, this is atypical in the DAW world, kinda similar to the way Digital Performer does things, but quite different to most everything else.
Anyway, neat...

wow...my credit card company blocked the transaction because they thought it was suspicious, I called them and was sent right to the fraud dept. It's cleared but now Magix keeps saying the order cannot be processed, I tried it with two other cards and no luck there either, called both of those cards and they did not suspect anything. Called Magix support, got a ticket in but I'm fear it will be too late to get the deal by the time they get it, the guy I spoke with didn't seem to know about the deal and kept thinking I was talking about an upgrade.
Oh well, if thems the cards that's dealt me me I'm doing fine with x2 and will spend the 150 elsewhere

I got an email yesterday with another deal open until the 10th. It's weird because it says upgrade on the chrome browser tab but many people have got the deal and they are all full versions.

That did occur to me Hink but the 5th isn't over yet. I'm sure one half of MAGIX doesn't know what the other half is doing lolHink wrote:could mine not be going through because this supersedes it?^^^^

hey, sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere but a few small questions before I jump.
1. Do Sound Forge, Spectral Layers and Samplitude recognise 64 bit plugs?
2. Is Samplitude and Spectral Layers MAC & PC while SF is PC only?

Soundforge does not, unfourtantly. I haven't used enough SL to give you an answer on that, and Samplitude Runs 64 Bit plugins just fine. Vst3 too.nathanj wrote:hey, sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere but a few small questions before I jump.

SoundForge can come with Mac BUT The SF that comes in this Deal is only the PC version. This is important to note. Why they did this? I don't know but probably because it is meant to work within the PC only Samplitude. The Spectral Layers I received gave me the Mac DL as well but that is the only one of the three that is Mac compatable. Although if you only wanted SL that alone is like 60% less then it usually is with this offer.
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

Ok, thanks Spencer
Ya, it's kind of a crazy deal. I've got such a soft spot for SF from way way way back. I haven't been using it cause I've been primarily on Mac for the last decade but I just got a PC and am more than happy to add this bundle as it's kind of a one stop shop for the work I'm doing.
I'm guessing that this is about gaining a bunch new customers so they can upgrade all the packs and make much more from those fees - which is totally fair, this is an insane value. So glad I noticed this tread today.
Also, I'm not completely familiar with SL and Samplitude.
Does anyone have experience with the Audio Restoration features of these two? I primarily do dialogue recording and editing and if this is capable of the same features as say Izotope's RX or Adobe's Audition I would be thrilled.
Thanks
Nathan

That is what I thought too - I doubt I will use Samplitude - certainly not as is at the moment, but Spectral Layers and SoundForge definitely, and I am assuming the new versions will be out in the next 6 months to a year. Soundforge Pro I think will get updated to be a more powerful version of the (more modern) Studio version, no idea for the others, but I wont sell my Samplitude license until I see what the next version is likenathanj wrote: I'm guessing that this is about gaining a bunch new customers so they can upgrade all the packs and make much more from those fees - which is totally fair, this is an insane value. Anyone have any input on Spectralayers Pro 4? Curious what experiences people have had with it. And how it compares to other things on the market, if it's up-to-date with current OS (Windows 10), if it's 64-bit compatible, etc (and isn't Sound Forge 11 pretty old by now...still 32-bit)?
