Thanks, I'll check that out. I was planning on looking up her covers since I noticed she covered Blondie, Pearl Jam, The Arctic Monkeys, etc. when I was looking for the video I posted.melomood wrote: Sat Apr 24, 2021 5:48 pm Yea she's going that way. Caught her on snl covering 'wish you were here'

She does. That's why I say she's going there
I'm not ashamed to admit I picked up Plastic Hearts
I was taken by the Plasmatics style cover font & there's a track with Dua Lipa who I'm smitten with

I like her cover of Jolene. At any rate, that's too easy. Sometimes I'm a bit surprised when pop holds my attention. This isn't new, but I see that's not a requirement. It's probably because it reminds me of Chicago hard house. It's definitely better with big speakers. I'm not sure my neighbors agree LOL!

Yeah, see I'm not a Nickie Minaj fan. I don't seek her stuff or really anything even close to that style, at all. It's just that the sparseness of the production in Stupid Hoe caught my attention. Let's put this in perspective though, I have probably heard it fewer than a half dozen times, and that includes some uninvited surprise listens at traffic lights.
I've heard the cover of Jolene by Miley Cyrus more times than that.

I've never heard that cover of Jolene by her, or much before Plastic Hearts. I'm not prone to following Nicki either, but I do pick up the Major Lazer albums when they come out

Liked Miley's Wish You Were Here cover, was less impressed with her Arctic Monkeys cover, but that was around 6 years ago. She's done quite a few. Her Just Breathe, Sweet Jane, and 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover (also from SNL) covers are pretty great, too. Definitely a fan on her unplugged stuff.

While we're on covers, I really like this Revivalists cover of the Bee Gees "To Love Somebody." This falls into pop songs that I like and recordings that I like.telecharge wrote: Sun Apr 25, 2021 1:32 am Liked Miley's Wish You Were Here cover, was less impressed with her Arctic Monkeys cover, but that was around 6 years ago.
