no, you're right. ive used it for like 6 years now, but i basically only use it nowadays to get a kind of glitchy specific pitch shift. i find it hard to "musically" reconstruct or treat sounds without them just sounding like super dissonant or destroyed, but i guess that is partly due to the nature of spectral processing. i guess in the right hands, specops is very capable, but i think like you said using the controls pretty subtly is key there, find the magicDSP plugins and also infiltrator a bit easier in that regard

I've found the same with Spec Ops. I got it when it came out, carried along by the usual KvR excitement for the latest shiny toy. I think if it wasn't for it being tied to the PA licence arrangements I would have sold it by now.

Too bad Molekular is not included in the Komplete Standard.
That's the only one I am looking at to buy.

It's ridiculously good albeit CPU heavy and somewhat tedious to program. But unlike a lot of multi FX things, the individual FX sound pretty good. The reverb is not too versatile but it can actually do some decent stuff. But working with such a small interface is a bit of a drag so I find myself either layering other VST fx or using Infiltrator instead.

I feel your pain, Reaktor is probably one of the only plugin that dosent have a resizable window that I still use daily. It's just too good I can't let it go. Shame there is not enough interest in it to get NI to put ressources into it. :? :

Ruina out of this free bundle is interesting for weird distortion.

i also like Molekular a lot, also Virta, both fiddly but you can get sounds never heard before depending on the source

lately i am experimenting with TONSTURM SPCTRL EQ (spectral EQ) and TONSTURM FRQ Shift (Fr shifter)
both are very good , i especially like the modulations you can have, envelope flowers, custom LFOs, you can add movement alien textures to your sounds
