So far the basic idea is a semi-hardware based look, but not 3d angled knobs. aiming to be fully visible in a 1024x768 monitor meaning somethign will have to be condensed into multiple panels. possibly an approach similar to Albino as far as having multiple controls selectable.
wow..the ultiamte free syntheizer this would be!

Ah, they're following the tempo indeed, but there's no proper indicator for rhythmic values.snooky wrote:they are!!Sascha Franck wrote:wish the delays were tempo-syncable...
And still, the LFOs aren't... which would be such a great thing to have.

on the topic of feature requests: which I am a little shy of asking: as is it is truly wonderful:
Perhaps a cut and paste function to copy oscillators and/or filters/adsr's, etc.
That would just speed up use for me. Sorry if it is rude to suggest- this sounds great!

Hm, another one: I don't find the attack curve to be all that suitable for pads. Maybe some exponential curve would be better than a linear one. Of course the best would be if one had a choice.
Btw, I'm getting quite some hanging or non-sounding notes in Logic and it doesn't seem to be Logic related (the Logic-based note hangings are usually quite different).

Just to give a general review of my GUI design style, I am linking to an image of a synth I have been working on for a while. It is in SE because I am most assuredly not a C++ programmer.
Voyager of course will have a totally unique look/feel.

Xerocreep -- nice GUI.
If possible, could you keep it all (or most of it) on one page ?
Also, could you please align all the ADSRs, similar to filterscapeVA ?
Actually, my only issue with the current GUI is its height. I do not mind dragging it left / right to view any portion, but I cannot drag it up beyond a certain point. So, I cannot view the bottom frame. If there were a way to move the bottom frame to the left, I could use the current layout.

I would like aswell having the whole GUI in 1 page if it's possible, because it's really comfortable for preset programming.
Excellent artwork xerocreep.

Thats where the problem seems to lie. Keeping it all on one page/panel with all of the options available really restrains it to its current size. I really like seeing all of the oscillators at the same time, but i am still trying to figure out the most ergonomic way to display everything.
My initial thoughts would have either a one page layout with labels underneath the knobs and the decimal readouts displayed in an lcd style box when you click on the knob - to conserve some space. I suppose similar in thought to Vanguard.
...or an alternate layout that would have selectable osc/filters/mod/ etc like Albino has. this would allow us more room to space controls out a bit, but would sacrifice hte ability to see more than one osc at a time, or filter, etc. I guess also similar to the hardware Virus in selecting which osc, etc.
My usual sequencing environment is FLStudio, so I have similar issues with being able to drag the current GUI up to see the bottom couple knobs. I normally work with 1024 x 768 on my music machine.
I should have some time by next week to have some initial ideas for people to comment on. I will try to lean toward the one panel designs though.
