I did try with Ableton Live and still haven't had much luck. I have noticed one thing, on the XP FL Studio my USB to MIDI cable is found as 'USB Audio Device'. On my Vista Laptop it's found as 'midilink' (which is the make of the cable). Would this be anything to do with the problems?

Post

Well at least it seems it's more related to your USB midi device rather than the EZ EG itself, maybe you will have more luck on a another forum related to these kind of devices ?

Post

Well I've now tried with Reason and still nothing unfortunately. Like i said i'm not an expert so it might be something stupid i'm not doing but im running MidiYoke Out Port 1 in MIDI Out on the EZ-EG App and then MidiYoke In Port 1 in FL Studio. If any of this is wrong, please let me know im getting eager to use this for its real use!
-Thanks

Why are you using Midi Yoke ? You don't need this.

Post

Uh here's some points that may be relevant

-the ez-ag does not care which midi interface you use with it

-you can hook it directly into your daw by using a midi to usb interface(or pci card if you're on a desktop)

-midiyoke is used to re-route midi. Use only if you have a need, like running into a standalone hta program then reroute that midi into your daw by midiyoke

Sorted, used a different MIDI to USB cable and everything seems to be working now. One last question, When i load up different instruments in FL Studio, is there a way where i can switch between instruments without changing them from my PC? e.g. to switch instruments using the guitar?

- Thanks

You'll need a synth/sampler that responds to MIDI Program Change event data.

Hi, i'm new to the forum..

I just goy my new EZ-AG guitar/controller and i'm really excited about the possibilities of it.

I have a few doubts, and i've reading this thread, but i can't find the answers...

Well these are my questions,

I have a midi to usb converter, M-Audio 1x1 and i connected the guitar thru this converter and then into my mac.
i am using midi pipe and logic pro 9.

At first, it worked ok, but it didn't send the note off signal, then i read in one post, that if you connect a cable in the headphones out, it sends the signal, and it worked fine.

I just have one problem now, if i play an open string, without pressing the frets it keeps playing forever, is there a way to mute this using like time limiters, 2 seconds or something like that?

Actually i'm using the bar with my right hand to mute all sounds, but it would be great if it's possible to achieve what i'm trying to do.

Other thing is that i've seen a lot of videos and i keep seeing that some guys use it with no strum, only with frets, is there an advantage of playing like that?

I'm new at this, so if you can give some tips, i would really appreciate it.

The audio ouput does not relate to the midi output, so plugging in a 1/4" plug while using midi doesn't affect the midi.

I don't know what free midi effects are available for mac, probably nothing. I made one for pc that causes a note-off at the specified rate.

The fretted but not picked notes are a low velocity, you could use a velocity multiplier midi effect and just play with your left hand.

Hi, thanks for the reply, i know the audio output doesn't affect the midi, it only mutes the speaker, i think lowering the volume is the same, it works is beacause i'm leaving the internal control on, and when you do that, the speaker sounds, so to avoid that i connected a 1/4 plug or i could turn the volume down.

If i turn the control to off, it doesn't send the note-off.

if someone knows how to do this in mac/logic please help me!!!

holy moly, a lot of pages to go through here!

So far the first few pages have been great..!

but, I'm afraid to go through the whole thing, could someone tell me if there is a midi script of sorts, or way to only have the midi being sent when strumming with the strings?

I have FL Studio 8.

I need help in finding an online store selling the EZ-EG. No luck so far, only the EZ-AG seems to be featured. Any ideas?
