if (and when) we hit 4000, could we choose the 6th pack among the

Dude that would be so sweet, I have all of the sample packs and i really don't care for the loops, it would be sweet to pick from "squids extras" for the bonus sets.
Sorry guys, but I think the answer will be "no". Squids mentioned about a month ago that IK's system is set up to deal with this GB with the packs available and won't be changing. In fact, you can't even do what you expressed if you joined through eSoundz. You get your free 6th pack automatically through the automated system, and the choices remain the same.

And the chances of them doing anything special which would require anything manual on their end (when dealing with 4000+ joiners) is pretty unlikely. :-(
Well, this may be the case, but lets not us clients jump to the negative
conclusions, its not our business, let IK reply to this wish. H.

Well volunteering here on a small island in the Philippines after being born and raised in the US, it damn well seems like things are 6 for the price of one. :) I can buy one fresh fruit smoothie here for $.76 (real ripe mango's, banana's, pineapple, you name it) however in the states I was easily paying $5-6 each!

Holy crap, "I will take six mango smoothies please!"

However, this is only a luxury I can afford as for many of the rural locals a single $.76 smoothie is very expensive and needs to be stretched out for the days meals. :(

34 to go.
What about 14 for the price of two? I never saw THAT anywhere for sure :D

Sorry, but here's another question about overlaps...

I read early in this thread that there's an overlap between the World Instruments lib and the libs that people got in a previous esoundz "Rare and Vintage" group buy. I participated in that group buy and out of curiosity ran a comparison of the presets from Rare & Vintage that I have installed, and the ones listed for Word Instruments. Here are the dups:

bazouki f
kantele dynamix
ukele dnx trem
cv panflute
indi flute 1
ocarina

That's only like ~1% overlap. Am I missing something? Do I have a bug in my comparison script or have the presets been renamed in World Instruments, or was there a different Rare & Vintage group buy before or after the one I participated in!?

Post

I saw a note early in this thread saying the same thing, but you're right, there's virtually no overlap.

I think I remember another note saying that there was another Group Buy - NOT the "Rare and Vintage" group buy - which included a lot of the sounds in World Instruments, but I'm not sure.

24. I got an arp and an ob to catch ;)

I just joined last night (epointz go to wfm for his excellent step by step process post that will help an esoundz newbie like me tremendously!), but have a couple of questions regarding the bonus packs as that will influence which expansion tanks I get when I have time to download this evening.

1. A couple of people have mentioned that they've downloaded Best of Sonic Strings or Rare Instruments Vol 2 as their freebie bonus, but neither of those two were listed on the original list posted about a week ago. Is there anything else that is not on that original list? (I'm mostly interested in instruments rather than loops.)

2. Not to sound too greedy, but is the Wild Card Bonus something that everyone who joins through esoundz gets in addition to their free pack and the 1 GB sample pack from IK, or is that something that you have to choose as your free pack? (I know that it's not the same thing as the SR Bonus Disc listed earlier.) Thanks!

Wow! Only 20 more needed! And we still have 7 days left!

You don't think?... I guess I should wait until 20 more people register, and see what happens then....

For anyone interested, I have a recommendation for an Xpansion pack choice. I own much of this material already, but have generally been happy with my choices (Cinematik, Vocal, Symphony Strings) but I thought that, hands down, for consistent quality, the SAMPLEARP collection really was a worthwhile purchase.

I'm not really a big vintage guy (though my kids might disagree) but there's definitely a lot to reckon with here. Very well programmed and clearly a lot of thought given to the patch programming, etc. Useful stuff too, not just bleeps and whirrs, but actual musically interesting instruments.

My 2 cents. :hihi:

Peter hinted on the Cakewalk thread that 7 for 1 is a possibility.... :)
