I've written some software specifically for the Yamaha Guitar.
Its a Guitar Tab Editor/ Player and Training software written to take
advantage of the two-way communication of the guitar.
I've even thrown in a couple games you can play by using the guitar as the controller.
You can see the video on youtube.

It will be free once I finally button it up. If you have any ideas to make it better please feel free to leave a comment.

Excellent ! You have done what Yamaha should have done and packed with the EZs years before even the first Guitar Hero game
Well done, great job.

By all means start a new thread for it, so your topic won't get lost in this very long thread. You can do it now or when the software is finished. Or not, as you choose.tigweld wrote:I've written some software specifically for the Yamaha Guitar

Hello, I didn't know if it is appropriate to post this on this thread; but, I thought because it is focused on the EZ-EG and EZ-AG I would mention it. I have an EZ-AG to sell. It is less than a year old, in mint condition and includes the AC power supply and original shipping box and manual. I have upgraded to a Godin xtSA with the Roland GR-20; so I have what I need as far as a MIDI guitar. If anyone is interested, please e-mail me. I am from the Detroit, Michigan USA area. My e-mail address is on my web site: http://web.mac.com/bob_santoro (http://web.mac.com/bob_santoro)

Hi, Thanks to all that replied to my last question, kinda going back to my last question, Was wondering how i could change Instruments with FL Studio with the EZ-EG? I can do this using my standard MIDI Keyboard by using the - and + buttons and my computer keyboard with the up and down keys, but the - and + buttons on the EZ-EG only change the preset on the EZ-EG Application and not the instruments on FL Studio. I'm sure there's a way to do this, but i'm not so sure.
Also, if there is no way, would a MIDI Foot Pedal be the solution? I'm thinking of setting up my own band but i don't want to keep pressing the computer keyboard when changing instruments! Anyone know a solution?
-Thanks

Hi,
Getting my ez eg in a few days. I was wondering if there was a way to import a midi file composed on logic to the EZ EG and make it play the song while you would strum without frets.
Just a thought.
There doesn't seem to be any software available for mac OS X (running leopard.)
Thanks!

You mean program change? That's a standard MIDI command, the ez does some, but only as how many internal sounds it has, can't go to say 128. I can do this with my Behringer FBC1010 pedal board.

That's cool, I've never got into the sysex lighted frets stuff. I've had a lifetime of music theory.tigweld wrote:I've written some software specifically for the Yamaha Guitar.

Thanks for the reply RunBeerRun, I've just been playing around with the EZ-EG again today and found that when i run EZ-EG directly through FL Studio (Without the EZ-EG Application) it works perfectly, i can press the +/- buttons and it selects which instrument I control, but also has horrible latency issues without the application. Is there any way i can control the instruments on FL Studio with the EZ-EG App? e.g Would i have to edit any of the scripts?
-Thanks

I don't know what you're talking about, I don't read this thread very carefully. Sounds like you have a standalone hta script? That won't reduce latency.
If it's an attempt to process your sound with an onboard stock audio card, that's 100% the problem, download www.asio4all.com and buy a real audio card at some point.

I'm using the application from tencrazy.com, When i use it and press the -/+ buttons it changes the presets on the application (e.g. Fretboard to Guitar) but when i don't use it, i can change all the instruments which is what i want it to do, problem is all the notes sound off! Is there anyway to fix this? If not i might have to invest in a pedal board.

My EZ EG arrived on Monday. It certainly does the job when inputting notes into a sequencer/hardware synth. My main problem is that i prefer to use OSX running Logic 8 (no way am i trusting a Windows laptop when playing out live) and the only software i've found for changing the midi settings is MIDI PIPE which is ok but i wanna be able to do pull offs without having to use the string triggers - they're not great are they...
I always thought that if i was to get a Ztar i would deffo have string triggers on it but now i can see how pads would be better as i want to be able to percussively trigger strings/notes instead of worrying about accidentally touching the other strings.

Does anyone know how the string triggers work? As i said i'd love to have some sort of pad or button in place of them. Shouldn't be too difficult but there are literally no service manuals or info on how it all works.
I don't want to start taking it apart and then have it not work at all
