That's not possible unless we do really ugly hacks that will open a can full of worms and can cause trouble with various DAWs.
Apart from this only very few users use MPE.
If you want full Midi support and MPE you simply can use the Vst2 version which comes with no disadvantages at all and slightly higher performance .

Would CLAP be better for midi and have the midi features of VST2 that allowed Icarus to implement MPE?

VST3 is the only plugin format that does not come with a proper Midi implementation. The developers have to do really ugly workarounds and hacks to make Midi learn work as intended (like exposing thousands of dummy automation parameters to the DAW). There are dozens of threads about this in the developer forum. Apart from Steinbergs licensing terms the insufficient Midi support in VST3 is one of the main reasons why CLAP has been developed. Supporting CLAP is rather high on our priority list, because we're convinced that it is a well-designed plugin format.

It's a 117 page thread about Icarus. How is the plugin format off topic? Anyways glad to hear CLAP is being looked at. It's a wonderful format, especially as a Bitwig user.

Hi Markus,
I have some little suggestions for workflow improvement, which are very small details, but I think would improve the usability:
- The view selection, for example that I have chosen LFO2 tab and the 2d wavetable view, could be remembered in the instance (not in the patch, but why not?), so if you re-open the GUI, it is not lost anymore
- If I modulate the wavetable index with the mod wheel + LFO2, on mouse over on the index knob, only the mod wheel modulation is shown... A bug? Also there simply could be then two little modulation amount popup-knobs, for each single modulation source. This would be super handy, since you do not need the mod matrix view at all anymore. I think this would be huge improvement!
- Also the context menu on a knob could then show "remove LFO2 modulation" and "remove mod wheel modulation", so for each source an extra entry.
- I actually would put the matrix and MSEG1/2 tabs to the very left, since it seems to be the most important while sound design phase. Also this tab selection could be remembered.
- Some alt-click on a knob could open the matrix tab.
- It is a pity that you have to sacrifice a whole filter, if you want pre-filter distorton... What about adding the all distortion types with "prefilter" prefix additionally?
Thanks for consideration! Regards.

...And then, what I am also missing, maybe others, too:
- Lock for FX mix, so you can browse all presets with fx disabled. Actually a switch "disable fx" might be more cpu saving
- Lock for EQ on/off

I've been trying the demo for the first time, on an M1 MacBook Pro. Very appealing qualities to the synth, however, when the time-out occurs it tends to crash Logic, and there's something odd happening in terms of how to get the synth demo functioning again. For the most part I have to close and restart Logic rather than removing and reinserting an instance of Icarus (which is a pain), but sometimes closing and reopening Logic doesn't reset the time out and I find the nag screen is still there. All of which makes it very hard to try the demo.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Is it running under Rosetta? That could be the problem.chagzuki wrote: Tue Dec 06, 2022 9:18 pm I've been trying the demo for the first time, on an M1 MacBook Pro. You can also use the standalone or another DAW for testing.
If you reload the plugin/standalone you get another 15 minutes of demo time.
If you don't get another 15 minutes restart the DAW. Make sure that you really exit and reload your DAW and do not just minimize it.
If this does not help rebooting the Mac will always help.
Please note: Unlike other DAWs Logic does not properly reload a Plugin when you remove it. Instead Logic keeps things in the cache to pretend to be 'faster' - a really strange and outdated design decision which can sometimes raise a behavior that confuses customers and developers. The problematic caching affects all AudioUnit plugins running in Logic.
Rebooting does also help when new AudioUnits are not detected after a fresh installation - a well known issue that affects all(?) AudioUnit v1 and v2 plugins and which is ignored by Apple since a decade. There is nothing that we plugin developers can do about it, except adding a really ugly postflight script for the installers that kills a process.
The above issues occur exclusively with AudioUnits. They can only be fixed by Apple. The issues do not appear in any other plugin format.

Is it possible to place Serum/Dune/Hive etc format wavetables in the same directory as the factory tables, for easier recall or do they have to be imported/resynthesised 1 by 1?
Always Read the Manual!
