Is there any way to make rebirth bigger...I have to squint to see everything.

Post

Drop your screen resolution to 800x600 :D or get a second monitor just to display Rebirth on. Maybe now that this is discontinued the Propellerheads are going to start selling monitors just to display Rebirth on at a lower reso.
It would be nice to have their Logo on a monitor :)

I really don't understand how to download this. I have installed BitComet and dled the bittorrent thingy from the Props but the torrent does not commence downloading it just indicates that it's connecting for hours at a time but never gets anywhere. What am I missing here?

Post

Have you downloaded the .torrent file from Props? If not, grab that, then open it in BitComet. If it's similar to the BT client I got (Azureus, I think it's called) you should see action before long.

This is the only time I've used a P2P program, and I don't expect to use it in the future for anything else except maybe Debian .iso files -- so I'm no authority!

P.S.: I did this without dropping my firewall. I've read that this will make things work more slowly but it came across okay, and while the client was running I was apparently also "seeding" that file and paying back my Debt to Society.

Post

Yes I have .torrent file and it is opened in BT. still trying to connect. I guess I have to be patient.

Post

Hm, sounds as if you've done the right thing. Maybe someone who understands the P2P thing can offer advice and wisdom, because I have neither.

what are you talking about? the only files people can get from you are ones you are downloading, in this case the zip file. NOTHING ELSE.
ignorance = fear? i just find this sort of illogical techphobia so frustrating, like when i tried to get my mom to switch from IE to FireFox. she said "i don't know how to use that!" ARGH!
hehehe
Beardedone, what kinda connection do you have? i'm on broadband sitting behind a router, and if i remember right i had to forward the client port for BitComet to work properly. i could be wrong though.

Isn't it funny how people don't talk about Propellerheads much around here and then all of a sudden they have you all clamoring over a freebie that isn't even that good? :D

Props to Props! :)

ermm you're free to equate the two.. However, its far from techphobia. and to generalize someone negatively before knowing them I feel is a shame.

I'd say its more fear = staying safe and also if something can be used for good, it could theoretically be used for bad too.. a computer is far from a perfect (safe) environment.
