In fact, I only have 1 complaint....that fuckin GUI is impossible to read....
agree, this baby sounds like a 1.000.000$. I hope the GUI gets reworked soon.

It's definitely of those top VSTis like Minimonsta, ImpOSCar and Cs-80v when it comes to expressiveness, liveliness and warmth of the sound imho. I hope you get a lot of -well deserved- attention with this.

I played with it for like half an hour tonight :

http://www.s146380088.onlinehome.fr/Muz ... _Impro.mp3

This is recorded live, I suck at using a sequencer :D (makes me think of using the expression pedal next time, could be great)

It's a great sounding synth for sure, but I have a LOT of trouble using the huge knobs, as everyone pointed out, they're very unpractical AND the gui is unreadable. I read the whole topic and I do know you're in love with your design... I also like the retro style and the looks of the keyboard... but those huge knobs, no ! (yea tooltips could be nice, or sharper fonts).

I manage to play like 8 voices in Quality x4 setting (with an Intel Core2Duo E6400 2.13 Ghz). 'Looking forward to cpu optimisations of course.

But as for the sound, it's a 10/10. Huge potential here, fantastic work AQ.

Nice stuff Boulotaur2024! Consider a few more tracks/instrument sounds? You might have a demo submission there if so. (And great to hear one being PLAYED rather than obviously sequenced too!)

Tell me, you say you don't like the huge knobs. Am I to intepret this as tiny knobs would be better? ;)

Seriously though, if you folks can make your suggestions a bit more specific and contstructive, it'll help when I DO get around to considering adding options for the GUI. (Which again isn't a priority in the short term, but I expect this product to continue to improve for years during the 1.x lifecycle. So almost anything is possible eventually.)

Cheers! Trying to get 0.11 out today but it might be more like very early tomorrow morning.

AQ, just one quick question. :)

Poly-Ana seems to be able to make a lot of Moog like sounds. Are its filters based on a ladder filter model like a Moog?

As for GUI thing, I understand that it's not a priority now. I tend to agree, though, with some earlier post that proposed using knobs behind the panel with a slit showing source instead of the huge mod knobs. :)

Yes.

EDIT: Actually, I shouldn't say "based on" because I developed them entirely independently without doing any research into other designs. Only after I had already realized the filter design was impressive did I do the research and discover that Moog's circuit design looked just like a flow-chart of my code. It was at that point that I thought I should probably build a synth around it. And now here we are, one year later! :)

There will be an option for something else. Maybe even before 1.0 release. (Not promising it though. But eventually for SURE.)

And it sounds very nice indeed.

And here is a very good news for people with smaller screen (including me), I think. :D

ok, this thing sound downright awesome. comparing it side by side to a juno 60 right now. it's definetely holding up.

I parsed through the first few pages of this thread but I have not read the whole thing so I appologize if this has been said, disucssed etc. The GUI makes me sea-sick. It's the weird 3d thing that does it for me I think. it does look really cool and all and I don't want to be an ass. I have no issues with the font size. just the 3d'ism of the whole thing does not work for me at all.

Anyway, congratulations. This appears to be a outstanding synth. Cool stuff.

Best Regards

AQ, another question. :)

Do you implement independently drifting oscillators in Poly-Ana? To my ears, I feel that they are a bit too precise. I tried with detuned osc1 and osc2, and the beating got predictably repetitive. I've tried the same thing with Minimonsta, and it seemed to me that its oscillators drifted a little bit independently of each other, giving a bit more interesting timber. It's subjective, however. :)

Nice demo. It sounds a bit Vangelisque.

After hearing all these demos I'm thinking this will be a must-buy for me. I'll hopefully have some time to play with it myself this coming weekend. I want to line up some free time to spend with it due to the time restriction on the demo.

AQ, personally I like the style a lot (I find the big knobs are really cool contrary to a few people here), but I have to agree that the text is difficult to read. Not impossible, and certainly with a bit of effort you can decipher the various bits, but effort could be placed in more valuable areas when using a synth. I'm sure many complaints would disappear if the labels were at least easier to interpret.

Now I know it's probably very difficult to improve the clarity of the text at that size, but you're the GUI expert - maybe you'll come up with something. :)

I'm also wondering how tough it is to see the position of those smaller round knobs, but it's hard to tell without actually trying the product (which I don't want to do until a few more revisions, I think). If it were my GUI, I'd make the smaller knobs less reflective, since the bright spots seem to distract from the position indicator; but it's your design, and your decision.

I'm watching this one and strongly considering buying it.
