Ok, I have just installed v2.5 (yep, I know I'm a bit late
) and have a few questions - mainly about the Combis (which are sounding great).
I though I would ask here first for confirmation/guidance before reporting the bugs (if any) to IK. Hope that's OK.
a) the Combi selector - every time I click this box to get the drop-down list the mouse flickers and the "3 D and 1 stick" combi is loaded. How can I avoid this?
b) has anyone organised the combis into folders to make them easier to access? If so, please tell.
c) I loaded the Carnival combi - only the first 7 instruments played. After some investigation I found that the low end of the Range for the 1920 Pianos was C3 which was fair enough. But the Tanta and Surdo 2 instruments range from C-2 to B0, but both are mapped on the keyboard from C1 upwards, so they never play. Is this intentional or have I missed something?
d) I have many Combis from ST2.2 - it looks as though they load Ok in v2.5. Is this right?
And finally, the "50 Free MultiFX Patches" (downloaded from IK - Amped Up, Biphaser etc) cause External Exceptions when I load them into v2.5 and the host crashes - is there a way I can fix this? These .stfx files worked fine previously.
I've just tried to download the 2 MultiFX ZIP files from the freeSoundz page but there are both corrupt here
Thanks in advance

Meanwhile, is there any way of running the 2.5 installer without it un-installing 2.2?

Hey Squids- Is a gig of Ram still good enough for ST 2.5?

It should be ok for most of the smaller instruments (less than 50MB), but you might run into trouble if you want to load several larger instruments (like some of Sonic Reality's guitars and pianos).Controller_C wrote:Hey Squids- Is a gig of Ram still good enough for ST 2.5?

yep, thanks asseca - but you're assuming that I can aim precisely at that little area
PS I've started organising the Combis into folders -that helps a lot and makes things easier too.

Yes, I assume that are reasonably sober when using ST2.5 ...DarkStar wrote:yep, thanks asseca - but you're assuming that I can aim precisely at that little area

I am very interested in you reorganized combis
Still working on a custom mGUI "shell" to simplify using ST2.5
