Why aren't you using Reaper?

I'm a mostly happy user. (1 bug makes it mostly not completely)

btw Option #1 is imnsho really dumb.

Yeah some Ferrari/RollsRoyce/Maybah owners are assholes so i will not buy any of these cars ! lololololololol :lol:

yes many pretty ones but doesn't solve the specific problem Barbarossa and I are affected by... when changing colors of any part it overrides everything again, it becomes a royal mess knowing whats selected and what's not
Cool, just wondering if solved your problem. I had no idea there were so many gui options. I went with the Reaperton skin myself.

My answer, because I dont have to. I suppose that if I were feeling like I had trouble with my current crop of hosts then I would be compelled to look for other hosts, but I have more than enough power to do pretty much whatever I want.

I dont know if this is a unique selling point but the edit line and play line are separate. The last program I used which had this was Acid 1 (if "retro" come's to software this would be my "808"). Having them both seprate means I can edit in the main window without stopping . Sonar used to combine the two when I was using it I have no idea if that's the case now though.

It may not be a big deal to most peeps but this makes a big diffrence to how I compose. Theres less reason to hit the stop button when Im arranging sounds.

Reaper supports ReWire, doesn't it? So what about ReWiring it to Reason?

("Reaperson"? Not as cool as "ReaperXT" :hihi: )

Does anyone actually use Reason + Reaper together? Any good?

Reason + Reaper works well, yes. I like Reaper's Rewire implementation. But it's sequencing is poor compared to Reason's sequencer, so i would recommend doing the actual sequencing in Reason, then mixing the audio return in Reaper.

Just found another very useful (to me) feature. Logic had and probably still has a "recording all the time" feature. Reaper has a simular feature called "Saving Live Output to Disk". Its useful to me because it makes buying a hardware sampler just to record my tweeks unnecessary. This way of working is best summed it by this article...

Have a listen to The Orb, Amon Tobin, Public Enemy and Future Sound of London to hear what the above describes.

On a side note, its pretty amazing how far music has come in a such a short time. We live at time when the death blow for even considering buying a hardware sampler is hidden in a manual ( http://www.cockos.com/wiki/index.php/REAPER_User_Guide page 183) of a $50.00 program and isnt plastered on every music magazines front cover :D
