Hello,

I wish I could do something to help but it's always difficult to make exceptions. You might want to note that there were several users that bought all four plug-ins (as individual purchases) over the span of a couple of days - we have to be fair to everyone :)

* Greater flexibility and ability to save presets / favourites on the plugiator.
* Layering and splitting sounds - it'd be great to have the ability to combine sounds from plug-ins
* Some form of screen - I know there is a cost / simplicity rationale behind not using a screen, but I really do think adding one would give more flexibility and user feedback
* Without changing the footprint, you could add more knobs and sliders to give greater control over tweaks away from the computer. My idea would be to get rid of the matrix design and fill the front with sliders / knobs. When you switch plug-ins, under each slider / fader a small LED screen could show the element and current value. This way, adding new plug-ins over and above the existing 8 would just need a new control map.
Hello,

Have you got the Plug-in Manager software installed? You can transfer presets from the software to your hardware and vice versa.
We appreciate your inputs and I've passed on your comments to our Product Manager. Please keep in mind that with the Plugiator we wanted to deliver quality sound at an affordable price, hence the hardware interface was kept fairly simple.

Yes. That's why i have GForce's Oddity. Some people complain that Oddity isn't polyphonic - well it's duophonic. Sonic|Core's Prodyssey is polyphonic, but in doing so had to lose the duophonic mode. Duophonic on the Odyssey is not the same as being two-note polyphonic, it reacts differently. i think though that you would have to have almost two software engines running inside and switch between the two, as certain functions on Prodyssey had to be modified to accommodate polyphony.

Hello Ray

Yes, I use the plug-in manager software, but for the most part I use the unit as a standalone sound module. With only 10 preset locations on the box I have to be organised enough to have the ones I think I'm going to want loaded into those 10 slots.

One thought I had though was that if you linked the 10 presets to the 8 plug-in banks, you'd have a better system - so you'd at least get 10 prodyssey user patch locations, plus the same for your other plug-ins. So, in my mind you'd select the plug-in, then you'd access the 10 patches associated with it. Sharing 10 patch slots between 8 plug-ins certainly limits its usefulness as a standalone unit.

Perhaps you could get your tech wizards to look at whether the system I've outlined above could be implemented.

No breaks for early adopters - that blows, but oh well.

As of now i can only confirm the control VSTi, however we might look into porting AU and RTAS.

Yes the DSP OS is very much user installable

Please visit http://www.use-audio.com/plugiator.htm for more details on the offer and contact your nearest dealer for the best price on the fully loaded "Winter Special" Plugiator unit.

The vocoder demo should be up shortly. I am sorry for lack of response from support regarding this. However you can also look at where we have some vocoder sounds.

Hi, Ray,

Sorry if I'm not getting this because I'm thick, but are you sying thta th ePluginator (and ASX) will be able to load VST instruments? For example, the NIB4 VSTi, and/or the MrRay VSTi Rhodes sim?

Hello Stuka,

No, the Plugiator would not be able to load any Vst instruments, liked you mentioned. However, we are currently working on the Vst GUI interface for the Plugiator.

I'd be happy to provide any further clarifications if you need.

Hello Ray.useaudio I just got a plugiator and am really quite pleased with it. Can you tell me the best way to move a sound from one slot to another? on most hardware synths when you save a sound it requires two button presses. first press puts you in save mode and you can scroll to the slot you would like to save to and then you press the save button once more. It would be great if you could add that function to the plugiator, but I am sure there is a way to do it using the software, I just haven't tried to figure it out yet. thanks.

Ok , I see I can click and drag sounds in the software, what if I want to move a sound from say 1 to 100? is click and drag the only way?

Hello,
Yes, that's the only way you change the order of presets within a bank. You can also click and drag presets from one bank to another to create a custom bank.

Hello Ray

Is there any chance of the on-board midi implementation being changed to accommodate MSB / LSB program changes? I'd like to be able to automate patch changes from my midi controller, to do that I really need to be able to pick patches / plugins using MSB / LSB and program number.

Many thanks in advance

Post

Count my voice in on that.

Besides missing VSTi implementation this is the second major obstacle in practical everyday use: you can't choose Plugiator presets from any master keyboard directly across modules without proper MSB/LSB implementation. This minimizes the Plugiator live usability drastically.

One more problem: since some days, my Plugiator plugin manager does not show the "usb audio device" in the plugin manager's connection settings any more. So I don't get an usb midi connection, although the "usb audio device" appears correctly within the windows system drivers. I run the software in WinXPPro 2003 / Sp3, and all worked well before Christmas. I have no idea what may cause the problem.

P.S. Just rechecked the problem by installing the plugin manager on my Tablet PC notebook: same issue there: the usb device is recognized and appears as hardware in the system drivers afterwards. But no "usb audio device" shows up in the plugin manager midi connection settings. So the problem can't be computer specific.

Ray, I am trying to figure out how to drag presets from one bank to another. can you elaborate?

Hello everyone,

The VSTi implementation is almost complete. We should be able to offer the first public beta version in about 2 weeks from now.

Regarding the issue of the Plugiator not showing up in the Plug-in Manager's I/O list: This is really strange since the plug-in manager looks up the Windows MIDI driver list in order to display options in the I/O drop down list. Can you please verify that the USB Audio Device that you see within the windows system drivers is in fact the Plugiator and not another USB device - keyboard controller for example.

I am sure you guys already know this, But I thought I would post it just in case. I emailed use audio customer support about changing the plugins via program change 101-108. I was trying to change plugins from my triton sequncer. this was the response:

The Plugiator requires a Program change number(101-108) and a Note ON message to change its Plug-in. Please ensure that you send a Note On message after sending the program change number.

So I tried sending a note ON message after the program change and It worked.
