You don't seem to be soliciting only compliments. In fact, while I mightn't be the best judge of character, it seems you'd welcome even constructive criticism along with the thanks or even on their own.

There are plenty of positive comments on these soundbanks here that I'm not only tempted to try them, but to try Synth1 itself. So kudos on that front too.

I do enjoy my daily dose of KVR silliness, though, so I'm fine with that aspect of the thread too :)

Making Everything Sound Better With Video

Post

Well, sir, these sounds changed my life; I've stopped drinking and smoking, and I got a haircut. I'm a new person!

Okay, maybe not, but they're still one of the finest examples of designing a soundbank I've ever come across. I'm putting you amongst such notables as Jack Hotop and Manny Fernandez. You really didn't miss a trick with these:

Each sound is distinct from the previous one (no series of variations on one sound here)

The FX contribute in a significant and meaningful manner to the patch

Even the names are both descriptive and inventive (as well as using an effective organizational scheme)

This is the kind of work I normally see in the soundbanks for hardware synths. I have no idea how long it took you to put these together, but I would consider going pro if I were you. This is fine work all around. Thank you again, and my hat's off to you!

Hakey, am i on the list? am i on the list? :) Did i make it? Did i make it?

:D

Speaking seriously: Please everybody don't call it "Free" if it's not. Thats what it comes down to.

Could you please call it "Thankware"? Or something like that?

I'd volounteer to write the wikipedia-article about it, giving you the whole credit for inventing it.

Hi,

I downloaded the bank and I'm deeply impressed. Lots of very well made patches. You certainly know how to get the most out of Synth1.

Thanks a lot for sharing your patches with us.

Andre

P.S.: pardon me if I don't join the ongoing "discussion"

I know.

I'm with the Reverend though: I actually feel sorry for him - and my apology to him was, believe it or not, meant sincerely.

Edit: Is the linked file both Vol 1 and 2 in the same bank? I couldn't find a 2nd link for Vol 2.
