+1 What makes it even worse is that all of the discussion is in 16 bit! True, most of it only uses the first 8 bits and most of that really only uses the first 7, but still. You want 64 bit, alright message received.
You should really drop this line of reasoning though. It makes absolutely no sense vis-à-vis Sonic Charge.glasgene wrote:instead of updating their existing range to 64bit some developers are keeping the ball rolling by bringing out new products and drummingup new business ala Bitspeak !!

Okay, so µTonic isn't really my kind of thing, but I've just bought Bitspeek instantly - exactly what I've been after for ages - THANK YOU !

I have spoken to developers who even admitted that they had to start and complete a new project before updating their existing line .. I don't think it unreasonable to make that assumption at all, even if you have the.code for something you still have to package and test it cross platform....polyslax wrote:You want 64 bit, alright message received.

...the new EQ sound is nice. Fat
apart from that, as I don't use the sequencer, feels like nothing's changed.
I can see that the 'drag to midi file' function would be handy for people who use the sequencer...
I must admit, i think I expected too much from this update
Some new modulation or something... FX? Something like that?
Damn my overactive imagination

Yes, of course, Sonic Charge is a business and they want more customers. To characterize the company as one that neglects existing products while they roll out the new shiny is where I see a disconnect with reality. Sonic Charge has 3 products, priced quite reasonably imo, and the product updates have been free thus far.glasgene wrote:I have spoken to developers who even admitted that they had to start and complete a new project before updating their existing line .. You make it sound as if they tried to build up interest in a meaningless update only to sucker people into buying something new. That's what I'm objecting to.

well if that's the way it looks then that is not my intention but yeah I get your point, counter to some I wanted supported compatability with my DAW(nothing more), I don't use it live, I never use the sequencer I use it for bass, drums and for effects its easy to program very quickly and as per sqigls post in that respect very little has changed.
Sonic Charge have 2 now 3 products under their belt when you look at some Developers out there running 10 + ok they might have the framework in place for 64 bit but they chose to do it and invest their time into that aspect of their business meeting the varied demands of their customers.
to sum I think their time could have been spent better that is all..not that they are trying to con anyone.

from the manual: • If a host reports that output b is not connected, all the drum patches routed to
output b will go to a.

i got it working in Live. you have to actually route an audio channel to the plugin, then the selector works.

Wow
Didn't think there would be whining about this FREE update
As for using their resources in better ways, wtf seriously, 64bit gives what at this point ? the ability to not have to use a bridge in a 64bit host, because lets be honest here it isn't like any of their plugins actually uses any great amounts of RAM.
64bit or bitspeek, 64bit or bitspeek erm bitspeek every single time.
64bit will come as has already been stated
