I submitted my latest song for Zebralette OSC.

http://soundcloud.com/examigan/examigan-nebula

It uses 15 instances of Zebralette, a few instances of Anwida free reverb, 1 instance of Epicverb (for the master), and the W1 BBA limiter (master also).

The EQ (on whatever tracks I used EQ) is from the host only.

No other effects, EQ, or compression used.

Hope you like it! :)

Last month was fun, lets see what everyone comes up with this time

Forgot to mention the host used:

Sonar Producer 8.5

Also the name of the song is:

Nebula

The effects (besides the free reverb and free BBA W1 limiter) are all built-in ones from Zebralette.

If any other info is needed just ask 8)

3rd entry. I think I've fallen in love with EpicVerb and may have overused it.

alphuris - Bad Kidney

7 instances of Zebralette
-1 kick that's routed through two sends each send having RoughRider compressor with a specific config
-1 HH track with RoughRider on it, it was too low otherwise
-1 Snare with RoughRider and EpicVerb
-1 Bassline with EpicVerb and Density mk11
-1 Noise track with EpicVerb
-1 "Drop squeeze" track (that's how it sounds) with EpicVerb
-1 Additive fill noise through EpicVerb

*Edit:
Effects within Zebralette:
Odd for Even, Filter, MSEG, PWM, LFOG1, Scrambler, Sync, Chorus, Stereo 2 Delay, Bandworks, Key Follow, Trajector, Registerizer,

A final compressing through Denistymk11 and LoudMax on the master channel.

All hosted in Ableton Live 8

I hope you all like it.

I know... I know...

i will fix it up and resubmit...
for the record i used LOGIC for my host — with~ 16 instances of Zebralette

bill showed up and liked what he heard so he put his vocal on it (i put some of logic's compression and 'verb on his voice too by the way because i knew a vocal was already not allowed anyway)... but as excited as I was when it was freshly recorded I'll have to admit... it's a pretty rough mix

thanks very kindly for your thoughtful replies and for listening y'all! :)

also for sharing all your wonderful music and songs and for having this contest in the first place...

ps: about sharing our original Zebralette Patches... what's the general consensus about preferred free methods or locations to make them available? dropbox, KVR itself someplace? ...mediafire???

thanks, Pete

Please re-submit a mix without the vocals, also you have not included some important information in your submission, like the host you used, the number of instances, and any effects used. You may want to re-read the rules here http://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/rules to be sure you have not missed anything else. good luck!

I suggest KVR itself, here: http://www.kvraudio.com/banks.php.

You can upload them here: http://www.kvraudio.com/banks.php?s=upload
specifing plugin name (btw, no Zebralette patches in kvr database, so far).

I'm very curious to listen to your track without voice :)

12 tracks Zebralette

Plugs: SonEq, Molot, PanCake, Origami Free, LoudMax

Been a hectic month for me but finally got a track finished. :) What a great synth, such a pleasure to play with. I don't listen to other submissions until I've made my own, so now I can't wait to listen to the other entries. Looks like lots of tracks in already!

Don't forget to share it with the group mate! :)

Have a good day :)

thanks kindly Bzur... love your tracks - i think you were the first person i started 'following' on soundCloud..

I will upload a set of Zebralette patches and a fresh mix for the OSC meanwhile i've put some more instrumental tracks up under my own profile/name to SoundCloud

Outside of working on something special for this OSC, i generally use Urs synths on everything... not just the ZEBRAs but also ACE* and BAZILLE (free!) and of course the remarkable FILTERSCAPE. I use Logic as host and it's array of built-in synths too... i will put the synth names in the tags for references

It doesn't look like I'll be able to finish my tune in time, but I hope to follow along and listen to everyone's work. I didn't quite get through all of last month's entries, enjoyed most of them, especially Examigan's. What an amazing little synth Zebralette is though! I am saving up my pennies for Zebra now...and I do plan to finish my tune eventually.

Best wishes and good luck to all entrants...what an amazingly talented bunch. It's a great pleasure just to follow the competition.

Did some re-work on my track and am posting the final version, I would be grateful if the previous version could be removed.

The track is pretty much the same except:
- Reduced by 2 minutes, I thought it was too long
- Tidy up of the hi-hats
- Tried to emphasis the main riff more

The same s/w was used, ie:

Ableton with EQ8 on bass and drum track

9 active instances of Zebralette
4 sampled Zebralette sounds 2 kicks, 1 snare, 1 hi-hat
3 instances of Density Mk11 (Great free compressor)
Camel crusher and epicVerb on the sends

Cheers
Aj

Managed to delete the old version myself, hadn't thought I'd be able to do that.

Cheers
