Not sure that Diva is done and dusted yet.

And maybe one day there will be a bespoke Matrix 12 emulation from u-he... doesn't seem like Urs' style to me, but what do I know? ;)
I'll just quote Urs last tweet. I hope he doesn't mid :)
"Ordered filters galore from #Schneidersladen - next on the menu: ARP, Polivoks, VCS3, TB, SEM"
I guess we can expect many more things from DIVA :)

That shop also got the new 4Voice:

This one is cool too:

That would be great too :)
And I always appreciate it if some of the new knowledge makes it's way into Zebra of course!

Hmmm, dunno.

I had a Matrix 12 for a while, but it was somewhat broken and hard to get anything out of. At that time I was highly underwhelmed with it. I'm willing to give it another shot though.

Another really great sounding synth is the Andromeda. That one, with a proper user interface (not that stylish confusion of teh original) would be

(and of course with *proper* presets - the factory presets of the Andromeda are horrific IMHO)

I agree to all of that. After testing it on the Musikmesse my dream synth is still this one:

Based on the expected price and availability it will be a dream forever. I guess i could build a poly-chain of 12 Slim Phattys for less money. :)

I will prefer this. If Urs starts to mess up with DIVA, we will be waiting forever for Berlin Modular. :?:

To the OP:
I've demoed the Arturia synths some time ago, and all I can say is: If you have bought any of them, you've got them all. Pleasant sounds from the Jupiter though :)

So, guess, I'd put my trust in the upcoming Diva. I wish we'll get to see some exotic pieces in it! Such as modules derived from old soviet synths, and a few modules based off the tube madness from Metasonix. Would be my only chance ever, to get a glimpse of how they were really sounding...

In your guys' opinion: what softsynth (or hardsynth) inherently sounds the closest to a Matrix-12? And why? Modulation options, architecture (signal flow and parameter options), fundamental waveform choices, the filters? Other?

softsynths:

by filter: Sonicprojects OP-X Pro II
by modulation options: Synthmaster 2.5

hardware:
- OB-Mx
- Alesis Andromeda (includes an Oberheim filter)
- Studio Electronics Code 8: http://www.studioelectronics.com/products/synths/code/
- Waldorf Blofeld, Q+

Hmmm, I think the only synth thus far that models the Matrix 12 filter modes with nonlinearities is D-CAM Synthsquad's Strobe (apart from Zebra, of course)

Are there any Matrix 12 mod routings that Synthmaster has that can't also be replicated in Zebra?

A Matrix-12 and a Pro One in the studio would be an extraordinary setup. What a combination that'd be!

The irony is that a lot of the synths you mention are just as hyped and untouchable.
