The "compatibility" thing isn't really a problem, either: the more options the production team has available the better, really. If someone hears a frozen track and thinks, "Well, yeah, sorta..." they can grab the MIDI behind it and copy it to another track to work up a new version using a plugin they have (muting the original). So you can exchange ideas pretty easily even without being constrained by sharing the same toolbox. (That was Red's idea, by the wayRed_Force wrote:You can see that, of course, but the typical way of dealing with it is the collaborative freeze. Thanks for the reply, midi tools/editor would probably be some of my requests.
The really big thing is that I would rely in my internet connection, nor I dont have it everywhere as it inst really stable, plus it is something more to go wrong... plus at this time it really needs a few things to be more usable IMO.
If money wanst so thigh this days I would probably take the chances but I will at least wait a little more.

This is really important IMO, any idea of what is coming and when?Red_Force wrote:About extra plugins : Orange updated me and it seems there will be some, once Firesledge will consider OSC to be enough consolidated.

The popular requests, reverb & sampler. The point of the sampler would be to work well in OS context, with sample transfers, I guess. When ? It's not entirely impossible to stuff coming before 2013, but I wouldn't bet on it. Also, again : it depends on pre orders.pc999 wrote:This is really important IMO, any idea of what is coming and when?Red_Force wrote:About extra plugins : Orange updated me and it seems there will be some, once Firesledge will consider OSC to be enough consolidated.
That is true but it shall be noted that OS also removes some worries : your computer can burn, you don't loose your projects. If you crash, you don't loose one minute of work. So it's not entirely bad news, you seeplus it is something more to go wrong
What do you miss mainly ?plus at this time it really needs a few things to be more usable IMO.

Thanks nice to know.
And I come to like some midi tools like the ones presented in S1 or Reaper (multitrack editing, stuff like stretch and scales/chords). Really good to a fast editing/composition and experimentation.

Quite probably (from the top of my head): sampler/drum machine, distortion and reverb.Red_Force wrote:Which ones, exactly ?The plugs

Inclueded Predatohm & Ohmicide:Melohman are arguabily some of the best software disto available to this day. So that's one thing : give them a trydistortion
Sampler & reverb are on our todo list. That being said there are plenty of good free ones, in the meantime.

Indeed they are some of the best, if not the bet, it slipped my mind and I even played with themRed_Force wrote:Inclueded Predatohm & Ohmicide:Melohman are arguabily some of the best software disto available to this day. So that's one thing : give them a trydistortion

This is what I want too. I want to be able to take midi data from the frozen tracks. If there was at least an audio to midi convertor, that would work. Also, I've realized that the frozen tracks are only good for using them to bounce into wav files. I find myself wanting to move the frozen sequences around, but Ohmstudio doesn't currently allow that. So the the only way to move them around is to bounce into wav files and put on an audio track (which I put right beneath the original). It works, but it would be nice to move frozen sequences around and also rearrange the midi data. Overall I'm liking Ohmstudio quite a bit, but can see some workflow improvements.pljones wrote:The "compatibility" thing isn't really a problem, either: the more options the production team has available the better, really. Well you sir should enjoy the new update quite a lot then. Includes :
- Midi Export
- Bounce to track (alternative to collab freeze but let you edit)
- pick where's the audio is saved
- excellent navigation feature (arrangement, mixer and modular view can now share the same focus)
You can already take midi data from a frozen track. Just duplicate the clip to a track where you have a plugin that can play something

Nice nice nice, these improvements will definitely make my workflow speed up. Looking forward to trying these later. Being that it seems like you guys are backing this quit a bit with improvements, I think I'm going to go for the lifetime deal. I'm liking it quit a bit so far. So good work!
This program has been very easy for me to figure out and the collaboration is definitely paying off.

I will have a serious go at Ohm Studio in the following days in order to decide if I and my friend will spend money on the life time subscription. The present lack of 64-bit is a no go for us to start using it due to our use of extensive Kontakt libraries, multiple Amplitube 3:s and BFD 2 in which all can eat up a lot of memory as we all know. Probably though, we will buy it anyway at €149 for future use since it looks very very promising, and I like the idea of supporting any dev when they most need it.

Indeed, if money wasnt so tight these days for me I would probably do the same.
Very nice interface and lots of potential IMO.
