I really enjoy the new version...

Two Chipcrusher instances - mozer encoding with different settings - used on PortaFM in a spatial arrangement.

Thank you to Plogue.

Wow, what a pleasant, unexpected surprise! Really need to make the move to 64 bit as I've got a good few 64 bit only plugs I need to bridge now.

Please refresh the download page later today for a series of day1 fixes (build 2.033), I'll update this post when possible
EDIT v2.033 is up

Great, many thanks! I use chipcrusher often! :tu: Some great additions with this version.

If I may, here are some suggestions for improvement:

- move "monotonacity" next to resample and/or make it's knob ring bolder/bigger. It's an important parameter! As important as the resample and bit depth if you ask me :)

- pre/post gain, .. I often use the plugin for hard clipping, a link switch to drive the input while decreasing output would be nice.. or an LED to light up when clipping occurs.

- a GR meter for the compressor or maybe more suited, above/below threshold LEDs (maybe same for gates? )

- the vocoder mode could use a tuning knob

- Remove word "edit" for gate, comp and SPC ... maybe you can just have people clicking on the module name instead. It saves space and looks neat! :D

- Cabinet: Please consider adding at least a phase invert switch for the wet signal = doubling the tonal diversity when used with dry blends because of phase difference.
For that matter, maybe add a short delay knob for the wet from 0.00ms to max of 5ms.

- Scope position: please consider changing it! maybe swap it with the cabinet's controls as it makes most sense... (or bg noise... who uses bg. noise anyway? ;) ) ... I enable it sometimes for fun to check it out, but I don't remember EVER using it! :D

I used the scope to check out squaring of the transients/wave especially when hard clipping, but the scope is small and pretty much redundant now... Please get some inspiration from the older GUI, it really had it's charms :)

No mix knob? :(
I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.

something's not right with the volume when using the cabinet (added: when using some IRs)
v 2.033

Even if wet is set to +12 (max) I have a add 6 more dB to get to 'unity gain' (the volume when bypassed)

While it may sound obvious, personal preferences are one thing, new features (or bugs) another.

We felt a MIDI input was way more flexible.

The phase invert, thats something we could think about.

You can make the UI bigger in the settings tab, I know its not the same thing.
But for many users the scope was considered a gimmick... Can't please everyone.

A global dry/wet wouldn't make sense since we add noise to the signal.
So instead each and every section has a toggle or a dry/wet.
The DAC section has a new 'DAC bypass' parameter, but its in the 'hidden' settings tab.
(along with lots more power user goodies)

That really depends on the source material. The impulses color the sound incredibly. They can add spikes to certain frequency ranges. Its kind of impossible to have it work perfectly at unity with bypassed for everything, and needs tweaking anyway.

There is a bug after all,

So, load the plugin with it's default patch... play something through to notice volume, click next or prev cabinet IR and then back again... volume now "normal" and not lower.

Uh oh. Got me. Seems like the default patch has internal values different than loading the C1084 impulse
Thanks for the report. Looking into it now!

I'm enjoying the new encoding modes with V2. This plugin is so much fun with percussion/drum tracks. Well done team Plogue. :phones:
