I find it far more readable than VA1.

And +1 on the support! These guys are great!

It's pretty unusable on my 22inch touch screen- I can operate the knobs/sliders on most synths, even V1! but not this one!
I can swich diva to cinematic and fill my monitor and operate anything like hardware...Same with the lovely imposcar 2. There really is no excuse for a tiny GUI (what screen were they enveloping this for?) especially in a world slowly moving towards touch screens.

Yeah, it would be nice if the GUI were larger or scalable, and AAS will probably take care of this issue, but come on . . . VA-2 sounds great. I've recorded a few demo tracks with this beast already . . . sits great in the mix. I'll probably do a user review after a few more hours of playing and recording.

Er, I like smaller gui's, and I've always liked UA-1. Owned for ages... UA-2 from what I can see... low cpu and great sounds. Upgrade price is a no-brainer as they say... What's not to like? :)

........ One of the reasons that V1 is definitely staying on my machine is just because of your presets. :)

Personally, I would rather you focus on working for the next Xils unit! But it would also be nice to have your patches updated to work with UA v2. ......

...... Really, even if there were to be an "auto" solution you would still probably want someone to go through all the presets just to make sure everything is good.
Thanks Sequent

Next Xils unit is my top priority, for good reasons, including the fact that its the 1rst one I designed from scratch, and its pure madness :-o

Nec+ Ultra : Automatic solution completed with manual checking would be optimal. But first I'll have to contact the people at AAS, and hope for an answer.

Presets, presets .....
Not to completely derail this thread, but the new iPad Arturia iSem (9.99USD/8.99EURO) has "Preset compatibility with the Arturia SEM V Mac/PC software." I know you just released SEMssentials: "25€ (including taxes for ECC users). There is an intro price of 19€ until September 21st, 2013."

Now that this has come out and the number of people who can use your patches has increased exponentially -- I wonder if it might be a good time to consider a sale of some kind (though you have more experience and can better predict the outcome than I). Arturia obviously thinks more sales at a lower price is a good idea.
yeah! a sale would be great! 1+ :)
it would be nice if we had seen any of these supposed new gazillion users on our site. But we've seen none  So either the price of the soundbank is too ridiculous for Ipad users, wich I can certainly understand, either they are not aware at all that SEMsentials ..... just exists.

But more than that putting SEMsentials at very low price would be a VERY bad manner to treat all the loyal users who purchased it when it was released, just a month ago. So sorry, Gentlemen, but I just cant treat my users like that, as I would not like to be treated like that myself. So if sale there will be, it wont be more than the intro price discount, 33% iirc.

And now back to Ultra Analog 2, and sorry for the derailment. You wont see me again in this thread until I have some feedback from AAS.

I'm very interested in hearing what you find out. I'm also quite puzzled to hear that it's not possible to load old presets.

Well, it would seem to imply changes to the underlying structure. Perhaps similar to what Galbanum was doing for their reverbs. If so, that makes sense to me.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned that some parameters have a different range in v2; still, I don't see why an automatic conversion process would be nontrivial.

On the subject of the GUI.....VA1 is skinable and I am using a modified version of the excellent Limeflavour skin which makes it much more pleasant to use. However I haven't found any resource folders for VA 2 so it doesn't look like it's skinable......more's the pity.

But the VA 2 upgrade is still on my to buy list......probably on my next days off to keep me busy and out of the Casinos........ :hihi:

Heh, after following the link from the AAS email about VA-2 it looked like an upgrade would cost $89. But as it turned out, that offer was for previous AAS customers in general. I was still contemplating an upgrade at that price, and when it turned out the actual upgrade price was $29, it was an easy purchase to make. It's interesting how the psychology behind that stuff works.

And 4K resolution monitors (they're coming).

I really hope plugin developers are paying mind to these changes because it's going to be painful to keep GUI sizes as they are now. I really love how u-he, Madrona Labs and ValhallaDSP handle this and wish more would follow their lead (and can add 2Caudio, although they immediately jumped to 4K preparedness).

I really liked UA, and although I have a cheap option into version 2, I don't think I'll be buying. Still, VA's that aren't your do everything, sound like everything can be extremely useful for no-nonsense playing.

wow, loving their new stuff !!
