This whole discussion is so absurd, as if people on KVR were addicted to plugins. Gee, get a life, there are zillions of plugins out there. If you want to make music, do it today and don't wait for some plugin to be released. If you don't manage to make good music with what is out there already, Dune 2 will not change that.

You can't be making music 24/7, you need breaks, for part of that time I come here
But I agree, it seems some people spend too much time here. I go to bed and wake up and the same people are still posting in the same thread with and added 20-30 pages of slakcing off
But I rarely, rarely even look forward to a new synth, like one every year if not longer and when I do I don't like other people telling me its a waste of time

I think of plugins like of records. I can't expect an artist to release a new record, as if it were any of my business what the artist does or doesn't do. If they do, fine, if not, I will continue to listen to the old stuffmysticvibes wrote:You can't be making music 24/7, you need breaks, for part of that time I come hereBut I agree, it seems some people spend too much time here. Fair enough, imo as long as you know how to structure a track and can create good melodies, you can create good music using any tools. But spending too much time researching them or posting in forums excessively could be put to better use. I'm not sure who your post was directed at, however its funny when someone who has over 2100 posts in two years tells someone who has 300 posts in 6 years to get a life and find better things to do
But case in point the very fact that I replied seems to point that I'm not entirely immune to the 'wasting excessive time posting in pointless cyclic threads' bug myself
which imo is about 80-90% of kvr. Peace~Tim

Yes, I write a lot, not just on this board
On other boards I have tens of thousands of posts
Then again, I have a lot of time, and I am too old to have professional aspirations in the music industry, it is just fun to me, a mere hobby. If I were a pro like many on this board, I would certainly spend more time on making music instead of posting.

Dune2 is absolutely worth the (long) wait. That's all I can say for now, doesn't help, I know.

Could you say where Dune 2 excels at in your opinion, ie basses or pads, from version one?

I have not so much experience with Dune, so it's difficult for me to say what is better/different/improved in Dune2. Let's just say that for someone who loves to make patches with synths, Dune2 is extremely fun! The possibilities are almost endless and the sound quality is first class.mysticvibes wrote:Could you say where Dune 2 excels at in your opinion, ie basses or pads, from version one?
