I love the 'scrambled explanation' on the their website....
If their latest product, Ozone 6, was as great as they said. And that THEY were very happy with the plugin's reception (okay, I'm paraphrasing the letter I got).
Then why do Izotope need to put an explanation at all? That says one thing to me, that they've made a pretty big mistake which will only get worse as people natter about the good old days when Ozone was rad.

I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

I hope when version 7 comes out they don't bring back all the dropped features plus add one or two small things then charge another 99 upgrade fee.

Yeah...but this time they will skip v7 and release v8 like current Windows 10..And they will say they listened you "customer" and there they will give you old features back again...mysticvibes wrote:I hope when version 7 comes out they don't bring back all the dropped features plus add one or two small things then charge another 99 upgrade fee.

Seems about 10%+ than Ozone 5 w/ similar settings, though if you turn on the Transient thing on the Limiter then CPU goes up, up and away.hibidy wrote:It's a tough call. For me, since I don't have 5, 6 might be attractive. But the extra cpu use being recorded is concerning. Of course, I could just demo that for myself.

Wow...no words to fully describe how appalling this is. Apparently iZotope thinks musicians, engineers & producers are really stupid.
"Build a pretty GUI, keep it drop-dead simple, and they will buy anything..." - NOT
Even Sony had to step up and restore missing features when they went cross-platform with Sound Forge. They at least had a legitimate reason for starting from scratch, and kept the original product development in motion. This is just a cop-out with an absurd price tag.

Perhaps a !0% price increase for the update would make more sense.Phase47 wrote:Seems about 10%+ than Ozone 5 w/ similar settings, though if you turn on the Transient thing on the Limiter then CPU goes up, up and away.hibidy wrote:It's a tough call. Seems this update is streamlined for ease up use, as they put it, for people not so familiar with mastering. Definetly not there userbase it seems, which is odd. Why not just release an Ozone essential package and keep updating ozone to be complex the same time. In any case I'm not familiar with mastering so it seems like this was 'produced' for producers like me. Will try it out and let you know what I think, if this pleases their intended users or not.

Naah, this seems to be a trend. I have a friend hating Logic and Final Cut for exactly the same thing. Garage-band-ifying the whole experience.

That would have been perfect. A new entry level version: Lite, Standard & Advancedmysticvibes wrote: Why not just release an Ozone essential package and keep updating ozone to be complex the same time.

Not wanting to nit pick, but Logic was not dumbed down like Final Cut. Quite the opposite I'm fact!!
