Does that mean your number one synth is one you haven't played? Or were you a beta tester?

I'm a beta tester and this thing is easily as good as Falcon. A little easier to use. The layout suits my temperament a little better. Falcon, by the way, was my #1 synth from last year.

Wags,
Interesting that Rapid didn't make your top 5 list. I guess I know what your answer is to the Rapid vs. Avenger question!

I like Rapid a lot on pure sound quality alone. But not having sample import and having so many factory samples that are of limited use is a sticking point for me. So it fell just outside my top 5 coming in at number 6.

There are so many great synths this year! I really can't decide which one is the best!!

There are RePro~1 and The Legend as analogue emulations, but personally I like RePro~1 slightly more.

There is Avenger and Rapid. There is also Synclavier V and finally Predator 2. I slightly like Avenger more than Rapid, but to be honest, I have spent much more time with Avenger while just a short time with Rapid demo. Still, I believe the two are in the same level of sound quality and design. The two belong to the same group, but I like both more than Icarus and Serum.

So my list of candidates are:
-RePro~1/The Legend
-Synclavier V
-Avenger/Rapid
-Predator 2 (still a guess)

I hope I can get them all soon (maybe except Rapid because it would be too much) :D

After all, it is a great year for the synthesists :tu:

Now that the dust has settled & its not the middle of July

My vote goes to Legend, stole the show for me this year with its sound & ease of use.Need a bass boom, need a lead boom, need a FX boom, you get the drift....

Repro-1 as well.

I bought two others of note, Icarus and Legend, but it is Repro-1 that I keep going to way more often than the other two.

Odd too in that if I was given the choice between a hardware mini-moog or a hardware SC pro-one, it would be the former 9999/10000
