I love Studio One. I love Notion 6
so I thought, they are going to integrate them so we'll have the DAW to end all DAWs.
They didn't, god knows why. They gave us a clunky workflow which doesn'tr make much sense if you are a heavy notation user.
So I sold the whole thing and moved on to Samplitude. Which is awesome.
Not as good as a theoretical S1 + Notion blend, but at least I don't have to witness such great potential unexpressed.
Strong notation is a necessity for some of us.

I would too, but to me it looks like PreSonus doesn't think there is an actual problem. That's my only problem with them lately.beatmangler443 wrote:I'm cutting them slack if it took steinberg so long to fix the cpu spikes, and disc overload issues we can give presonus more time.

I would recommend anyone on the fence to approach it from the opposite direction: if someone like Steinberg takes that long fixing stuff like this, it sets a precedent that things could potentially take quite long in this case, too. If someone is having problems now, and finds that it has been like that for a good while, my recommendation would be (at least preliminary) scouting for a host you can actually do your work comfortably in, today.beatmangler443 wrote:I'm cutting them slack if it took steinberg so long to fix the cpu spikes, and disc overload issues we can give presonus more time.

Hi,
With Cubase Pro 9 expected to be out during Dec. , I would love to see Presonus release Studio One Pro V4 during Dec.,or during January 2017, hopefully version 4 will close the feature gap between these two DAWs, and make many Cubase users take a serious look at Studio One v4.
Cheers,
Muziksculp

I'd rather them not just rush something out because cubase 9 is coming out.Muziksculp wrote:Hi,

I am running out of things to want in an update.
I switched from cubase to S1 partly due to all the bloat ware and unessesery complexity that steinberg kept adding....and to get a few workflow features (and even fixes) you had to upgrade....
S13 already has everything I need, please let them just make it more a little more efficient and just workflow enhancements....or do something revolutionary with sound quality or low latency or something useful....

They haven't even released v3.5 yet, and you are longing for v4 already? Less than a year from their latest major release?

I am looking froward to the release of Cubase 9 and then make the decision which DAW will be my main DAW.Muziksculp wrote:Hi,

The Studio One releases Version 2 to 3 took about 3 years or so. So it will be a while to see S1 V4. I do hope that I am wrong about this.
One negative about Cubase 9 and S1 is that they do not have a native 32 to 64 bit bridge.
Cubase does not have ARA but might be added in V9?
Cubase does not have Multi-instruments but then again I can use Bidule or FLS in its place.
Edit: I am looking forward to the release of Hollyhock 3 possibly by mid January? I am a multi-touch guy so ...

Totally agree with this. I like S1 because it just works and doesn't get in the way of making music. If you want bloat and all the associated instability and bugs that go with that, there are plenty of other daws more bloated that a bloated cow to choose from

I think you can't imagine the uproar that would happen if Studio One v4 only included "just a little more efficiency and some workflow enhancements"SLiC wrote:I am running out of things to want in an update.
