That's what's weird.

Do I need to display a specific set of controls (Object, meters, time display etc) to see it? Or should it display when any tab is selected?

Looks like something was wrong with the skin (Cameo) I was using where the extra display box at the bottom of the screen would end up under the task bar for some odd reason. I switched to a different theme and then back to the default and there it is: DSP and Disk and on the right ASIO information...

I think what also confused me is that it is not displayed when idle. So if I load a project, I don't see anything in the lower bar until I either start recording or hit play.

Anyway, your clue helped me out so I thank you!

Awesome! I thought I saw that in a screen shot somewhere

I've got Samp configured and can do the basics but it has one heck of a steep learning curve compared to say Studio One.

It's kind of like buying an oddball car like some Alfa Romeo (sorry you guys in Italy ) compared to a Toyota. Example: Where is the Performance Meter / CPU / Disk usage?
I can't find it.
I'm sure it exists, but where?

On the positive side, I can load up VSTi and play to my heart's content at like 5ms RTL with no clicks, pops or problems. I also like the old school look of the console. Real nice and the free Birdline skins make for some very interesting themes.

So I'm plugging away at the Kraznet Youtube channel and experimenting.
It's not for the faint of heart but I can see how amazingly powerful, in the right hands, the program can be.
At the moment, those hands are not mine though lol !

ftr next month will be ten years with Samp for me and I know how you feel

I am the process of getting a 40" or so 4K monitor.
FL Studio is 100% vectorized. Is this a big advantage?
Are there other DAW'st that are vectorized?

My 28" monitor died. It was very old. Perhaps 110 in human years.

This is an unexpected expense. Hope to spend under $500. Missed a
Black Friday sale for $299 for a 40" 4k Samsung. Super Bowl sales
may bring down prices. I'll be patient.

I love using my ipad for touchscreen stuff, I can't imagine how sick it would be to have reason/FL studio on a big touch screen (faints)

I switched from FL Studio to Ableton Live, been using the Ol' Fruity since version 4.

Ableton Live can be resized although the preferences window remains so small it is invisible to the naked eye...

I returned to OpenMPT as my main composition tool, with Renoise and Mixcraft waiting in the wings where I need more power or clip-based workflow. It's fast, it has the basic functionality needed to sequence my plugins and export stems, and the interface isn't cluttered. In the process got into accumulating raw samples after spending a long while in the world of getting a plugin anytime I wanted a new sound source. There are many great commercial plugins, both of the synth-y kind and the sample-y kind - but the majority of them just do the same subtractive or acoustic sounds with slight differences in timbre and interface. I have so many synths that I really don't want to spend time learning new ones at this point, and since my most fluid state has always been with tracker chiptunes, this is a kind of return to form, with bells on.

I also invested in automated backups with Backblaze recently, so I can feel assured that my work building up sample libraries will last. Probably a better investment than anything else I bought

I do want to shop around for a DAW for mixing in, something with more power tools. Reaper is one obvious option but I've bounced off the interface every time in the past.

I'm on the bitwig wagon!

I've been recording guitar and bass clips at my hearts content, I know you couldn't do that so easily with the version I had 2 years ago.

Anyone jumped ship / switched DAW this year?
