Is the PolyKB III available for download, or is it only on physical media?

It's available for download and installation takes minutes. It was very easy.Melodialworks wrote:Is the PolyKB III available for download, or is it only on physical media?

Thanks. Purchased, downloaded, installed, but not working in Komplete Kontrol. "Could not load plug-in (plug-in not found).
I've rescanned in Komplete Kontrol, but no joy. (PolyKBIII is showing up in Komplete Kontrol, as well as the patches, but nothing will load.
Disappointing.

Are you sure it's not PKBII you are seeing? afaik PKBIII is not NKS ready yet (PKBII is certainly all I see in my Komplete Kontrol)Melodialworks wrote:Thanks. Purchased, downloaded, installed, but not working in Komplete Kontrol. "Could not load plug-in (plug-in not found).

I think you should install the PolyKB II also ( In addition to PolyKB III, it will work with the same licence, and will install in the same directory) (it will be seen as a separate instrument by your daw)aMUSEd wrote:Are you sure it's not PKBII you are seeing? afaik PKBIII is not NKS ready yet (PKBII is certainly all I see in my Komplete Kontrol)Melodialworks wrote:Thanks. Like Stephen said PolyKB II is fully NKS compatible, while PolyKB III will only be NKS compatible near end of January 2017/February 2017.( Because of some additional patches to include in the factory library, that are still missing atm) Else PolyKB III should be used like any other soft synth non NKS compatible with your NI Keyboard.

Yes, that's why it's very important to have a diversity of tests and approaches. While I do use aftertouch on some ARP patches, I mainly use it with short modulations.( Or maybe it's just a regression bug appeared with the latest versions )wagtunes wrote:6 years of QA testing experience on software will find stuff most people won't. lol.Lotuzia wrote:Yes I can more/less confirm this (Aftertouch + Arpeggiator)wagtunes wrote:Aftertouch on the arp works in a rather odd way. When first applied, it works. However, after a certain amount of time (appears to be a few seconds) even while still pressing down on the key, the aftertouch effect stops.
Again, don't know if this is a bug or the way it was programmed. But with the sequencer on, aftertouch doesn't work at all.
I'm going to test this with both the arp and the sequencer on and see what happens.
It will work, maybe during a 'cycle', or a few seconds, then stop working, even if you maintain the pressure on the keys. Then, if you release pressure, then put it again, aftertouch will work again.( So seems it needs to reset totally before it affect sound again as specified) So a turnaround is simply to release aftertouch then put it again, but we certainly have to investigate more about this, to offer if only a precise answer, or a bug fix. Good find

Thank you. I didn't realize that PolyKB III was not NKS-ready. Apparently I made an incorrect assumption.Lotuzia wrote:I think you should install the PolyKB II also ( In addition to PolyKB III, it will work with the same licence, and will install in the same directory) (it will be seen as a separate instrument by your daw)aMUSEd wrote:Are you sure it's not PKBII you are seeing? afaik PKBIII is not NKS ready yet (PKBII is certainly all I see in my Komplete Kontrol)Melodialworks wrote:Thanks. OK, do you recommend the install of PolyKB II 2.5.1 or PolyKB II 2.5.2 beta?Melodialworks wrote:Thank you. I didn't realize that PolyKB III was not NKS-ready. PolyKB II 2.5.2 beta. There are a few things corrected ( Like the Sequencer STEP PLAY mode now working as expected). If its not stable on your system ( I cant see why but well, in case of ...) , please just install the 2.5.1 over it ( it will erase previous v 2.5.2 version, no harm done)

Thanks so much!Lotuzia wrote:PolyKB II 2.5.2 beta. There are a few things corrected ( Like the Sequencer STEP PLAY mode now working as expected). Up and running now. And I can also access PolyKB III via the Komplete Kontrol File/Plug-ins menu, but of course not properly mapped (yet).
For the time being I'll stick with running II and wait for the NKS-ready update of III.
I've only recently acquired the S88 and am still learning.

Mapping is easy - you can do that yourself in a short timeMelodialworks wrote:Thanks so much!Lotuzia wrote:PolyKB II 2.5.2 beta. it's the preset conversion that takes the time (although I assume XILS may have a script for that)

Loving the PolyKB II and III. Xils is not a company I've been familiar with. Now I'm wanting to check out their other offerings, also.

Just watched this tutorial for Poly KB 2.5.
If you notice, upon clicking inside the grid with the first voice grid active for programming, the light for voice one lights up as soon as you click inside the grid.
Following the same procedure for Poly KB III, nothing happens. The light doesn't come on and the sequencer doesn't activate.
Now unless this has changed between 2.5 and III, this is unquestionably a bug. The only way to get the sequencer to "activate" is to actually arm the record button and play in real time. The problem with doing this is that you don't get to choose your voice. Whatever voice is playing at the time, that's the voice that gets "programmed".
Has step input been removed from III or is this in fact a bug?
Just want to make sure this isn't user error, which it may very well be.
