i have the demo of Go2, so i can easily determine it myself, but sometimes i demo a synth, it doesn't do it for me. and a half year later or so, i buy it, and think, what! why didn't i like, i can get what i want!
I just got Blade 2 and am getting to know it, very luscious sound. I like Go2 as well. Makes some very interesting sounds. If it's still on sale for $50 that's a steal in my book.

But not every synth is for everybody since we all make different music and all have different styles and tastes. I've always felt that if you have to demo a synth for any length of time before deciding if you like it or not then it's probably not for you or as you said come back later and try it again. :tu:
you are quite right, it is mentioned by me and several others, that the music you make, your style (from styles; sharp..) influences the choice of synths. sometimes you discover a synth that broadens your spectrum...

GO2, is no go now. great synth. me like. even for €20, no.

blade 2, yes! because of the additive possibilties, i am also demoing zebra2, and has also additive oscillators with spectral "morphing" effects.

the problem is not the synths themselves, the problem i like it in a soft modular ecosystem.
nano pack, from toybox audio, gives a lot of additive and spectral possibilities (not to mention the reaktor instruments, full reaktor by the way i have).

so, i like the sounds of blade 2 ánd zebra2, i must decide which one, or wait, or better; dig deeper, for the full monty; additive + spectral morphing. and i have already "stuff" that can do it.

but the way blade 2 and zebra 2 do it, but again i must dig deeper, and see if i can achieve with what i have. that is "norm", it must be real addition.

thanks for you response!

blade 2, i can get for around €80, don't know why, at time+space, their discount system seems having problems, but still discounts are applied. (EDIT: not true, discounts aren't applied, it is strange system, still you must ask for discount manually.)

I like Go2 and Vecto, but I had a bit more fun making presets with Quad.

I own both and if you can only own one I'd have to recommend Zebra 2 especially since you can get it for $99.50 in the Native Instruments/U-he sale now. :tu:

if go for one now, i will buy zebra2, and wait for a blade 2 sale.

rob papen synths have a character and workflow that i like. but zebra2, despite its popularity, is also more of a niche synth, if you don't use presets (which i don't do, me like to program synths) and use all it's special capabilities.
