The changes are minimal but really add to the sound. For example the portamento value is higher, OSC2 volume is full (instead of half in the old version) and there are slight filter envelope tweaks.Ingonator wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:04 amSo far i did not notice a difference between the updated one and the one in the factory presets.Ghostwave wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:54 am Richard forgot to replace my old version of the "Jump" preset with the newer one.
So I'll include it here. Have fun.
I have also compared the parameters.
Synapse Audio OBSESSION is now available!

Like i alraedy mentioned your updated patch and the one in the factory presets seem to be identical for me, also the settings you just mentioned. Are you sure you really got the latest version of the factory presets installed? There were a few changes in the last RC and v1.00.Ghostwave wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:10 amThe changes are minimal but really add to the sound. The NKS preset seems to be identcial to your updated patch too...

You're right. I hadn't noticed that the "synth" subfolter didn't exist anymore and that my preset had been moved to the "vintage" one. My bad, all is fine now.Ingonator wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:18 amLike i alraedy mentioned your updated patch and the one in the factory presets seem to be identical for me, also the settings you just mentioned. Just tried the demo and it sounds great. I have Legend and Dune 3 and wasn't particularly planning to buy this but the patches are awesome... congrats to Richard and the patch designers - what a great job! I've been playing around with 'Age of Nebula' (AB) for about half an hour. Added some shimmer to it and can't stop jamming! Definitely tempted now!
I would say, I'm sure Richard knows his business but, for me, this is something I might pickup on a whim but don't massively need. If something like that gets released the sensible part of me will usually talk myself out of buying it if there isn't an intro deal because I know I could buy it at any time and usually, after it's been out a few months, I'm far less likely to get the 'new shiny' GAS. If there is an intro deal I'm far more likely to pull the trigger.

Just found this video that uses the "showcase" presets in the root folder of the OBsession browser (those patches without the categories in the patch names are also found as duplicates in the category folders):

Does Synapse stuff ever go on sale?
In many ways I am happy with a lower/fair but 'constant' price than slashing the price later devaluing the product for anyone who paid full price (like almost 80% off Syntronik the moment = screw you to everyone who paid $200 for it recently and anything from PA can be had for 20-30 bucks at some point! )

I really like the filter, when resonance is dialed to the max it sounds very good, maybe one of the best software filters i ever heard. Any chance this filter would make it into Dune?
Also that round-robin like thing with voices is very nicely implemented.
Have to admit, overall i like the sound more than Diva. I'm still not sure how much i need an ObXa emulation for making psytrance, but it's definitely a great pad machine. I suspect it might be good for acid too with an external distortion.

OK- there is a 'DUAL' patch
in the demo pre-sets (GT Dual Machine KS) and it works as expected and also works as a split so I have been able to fully demo these functions...once of my faveroute features (other than the quality of the sound)

Yes, but, if it's the same as with Legend, it'll be some time until it goes on sale (did Legend ever go on sale even?).
That's the wrong way to see it. The people who really want it buy it now, while it's a win-win for those who waited for a better price, because they didn't want or need it that much AND the developer, if sales have really gone low after a year or two. The most sales are always shortly after release. I'd dare a guess and say that there won't be 1/10 of the initial sales after a year. That's what I've always notice for other software, especially games. Games are sold for 1/5 to 1/10 of the initial price after a few years. It's a great way to create sales when there are close to none. And it's a great way to get those on board who wouldn't have bought for the initial price. It's smart, and it's good for both parties involved.SLiC wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 11:03 am In many ways I am happy with a lower/fair but 'constant' price than slashing the price later devaluing the product for anyone who paid full price

If you often make sounds from the scratch (instead of using presets), I would say that you need it. It goes way beyond pads.recursive one wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 11:08 am I'm still not sure how much i need an ObXa emulation for making psytrance, but it's definitely a great pad machine.
