It's partially OS fault of course, but thing is, even Windows will fail if 3rd party app go south like that browser, think no OS is immune of every disastrous behavior. These days it's not that common to have OS crash that easily, maybe it's just my experience tho.

I suspect Windows 11 with slow down PC sales quite a lot as people will wait to buy a new PC with Windows 11 pre-installed...

It seems that Intel CPUs since 2017 and AMD's second-generation Ryzen CPUs are suitable.
For AMD, for example, one with a very good price-performance ratio would be the Ryzen 5 5600X and it supports fTPM (the TPM firmware) with version 2.0 according to users who have tested it.
Unfortunately, there are currently no official statements from the CPU/motherboard manufacturers about which hardware is compatible and can possibly be upgraded (e.g. older motherboards with an existing TPM port). Maybe this will come with the official release of Windows 11 in winter, otherwise in 2022.

I would also say that hardly anyone will update their hardware at the moment. Probably many will wait until early 2022, where there might be more information from the manufacturers or there will also be complete systems with Windows 11.

It should not fail with a program like browser. I've never seen OS crash from browser, at least the new ones. I've seen OS's go to katatonic state for some time when memory is gone and swap is used back when HDD's were a thing, but they recovered when the program was killed. Anyway, what I just tried to say that there are things still that can kill straight at least OSX and Linux based ones.. but I agree its not common to have OS crash anymore.

My 2013 installed Win7 audiomachine hasnt crashed once. Twice during its lifetime have nvidia drivers gone to zombie state and I've had to blind reboot (press win, write shutdown -r -f -t 0 and press enter, voila. Back). I fear the time when it crashes... then something is totally broken

I never seen crashing from GPU driver also, my partner is doing video professionally for 3 decades on both Windows and macOS and he never had that pleasure either, but it happens.

Yeah forget that. Apparently my 1800X (8 cores at up to 4.1 GHz) is deemed unworthy to bask in the glory of the rounded corners and centered start menu of Windows 11. I guess I'll just continue to enjoy my squared off corners and bottom-left start menu until I decide I need more processing power.

Sad to see how easily customers are impressed with new shiny things, win10 is a virus itself, if you think you own it and can decide what it does no you dont. It is full of backgroundprocesses, no clean system without data sending and updates which are kinda forced after slme time etc. How can it be that you dont update win 10 and it works well and suddenly somehow it starts to bug around sometimes with specific functions even you didnt update anything? Strange isnt it? And there are many win10 worked on from colleagues as well who start to shout at win10 more and more.
But yeah win11 will be better of course ans of course you can decide i guess and it is a clean software. Shiny better more transparent maybe.

What a load of bullshit. You can have a Windows 10 PC, never connect it to the internet after it's authorised and it will work forever. It doesn't force you to do anything.

It would be strange if it happened but it's not something I've ever noticed.
