Haven't tried random on Saurus 3, but it works really well on another Tone 2 synth, Warlock. Whether the random is usable to you depends on your own tastes though which is why there's a demo.twal wrote: Thu Sep 02, 2021 8:06 pm I am wondering if the synth's random feature provides a lot of sounds that one can use. I am looking for a synth with a lot of presets, but wonder if the random function efficiently could provide many sounds- if it is not, and creates a lot of non-usable sounds are there any other Tone2 synths or other synths that have a wonderful random feature??
Available now: Tone2 Saurus4 analog synthesizer

Ideas for a future update to make the user preset experience nicer:
For Saurus3 I seem to not be able to create a user folder to store my patches in. Ideally I like when I'm able to create 2 levels of directories, a User folder, and then inside of it folders for Bass, Lead, Pad, etc. But at minimum I think there should be a "user" folder to store patches in.
Edit:
also, it seems like when I go to save a preset, it opens up whatever random directory I last used on my system. It should probably open up to the last directory that Saurus itself used, or to Saurus' default preset directory. I just tried to save a preset and it opened up Phuturetone GR-8 because that was the last directory I was in. Now I have to try and find Saurus' preset directory which I will never remember because I have too many plugins to remember where all the presets for every plugin are saved.

The random button in Saurus3 works really well.twal wrote: Thu Sep 02, 2021 8:06 pm I am wondering if the synth's random feature provides a lot of sounds that one can use. Apart from this you I'd recommend Warlock to you:

Warlock is a mighty digital synthesizer that comes with a reduced user-interface to facilitate an efficient workflow. It offers high-end sound-quality and ships with 2140 patches. The random-button can generate an unlimited number of useful sounds.

Hi Markus thanks for confirming. I got a bit confused when I only saw mac and 32bit download options this morning and thought I had misunderstood something. Yourself and 4damind cleared this up for me. I own saurus 2 already so thanks for the free update.Markus Krause wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 11:09 amSaurus3 is online now. Saurus3 is 64 bit only. testin so far, Markus you know i love RANDOM
, it seems pretty cool so far as it changes nearly all knobs what i see.
would you maybe consider putting a hotke on the gui or maybe hotkey for the keyboard to hit the random feature?
again thx so much that you continue and release these great products!
edit:
another thing, maybe is it possible to add mousewheel support for changing values? e.g. Arp Ocateves?
