Yep! I love Reaper. It's the GOAT. If it's good enough for Dom & Roland (one of my all time favourite D&B artist's) it's definitely good enough for me. After 14 years of using it, I pretty much know it inside out. :D
software is a tool that allows us to complete a given task.
social media is full of tools that distract us from a given task.

That'd be cool, but I've personally never seen him using anything other than Logic.

I used to listen to his podcast and at some point several years ago he mentioned/praised REAPER and expressed thoughts of migrating from Logic, but I've never actually seen him make the transition.

The brown DAW theme seen in his videos was a theme for Logic.
Still distributed at the bottom of this page, although not compatible with the latest versions.

Aha! My mistake then. Logic it is then. Well, not for me, I'm PC based.

There were (v5) quite many parts in Reaper that gave the Win 98 vibe. V6 might be better, I don't know. Will test v7 when it's out properly.

It's fine to see posts about a DAW people love, great it works well for many.

What's the end results ? Cause that is what really matters. DAW is always secondary.

Because MacOS itself looks kinda nifty anyway. Since Windows is backwards compatible until version ancient.1, REAPER maybe uses the same UI dlls from when it first came out, so it looks like garbage on Windows
Would you mind posting a screenshot of a 3rd party plugin? :ud:

bonus piano roll, VST3 contexts menus are also supported

"Aha! My mistake then. Logic it is then. Well, not for me, I'm PC based." in Logic, when working with multiple MIDI tracks, you're limited to adding new notes exclusively on the primary track. However, there is an exception – if you employ the approach of "When viewing multiple MIDI regions, you can temporarily display only the region of a note by double-clicking the note." D'oh!
https://support.apple.com/en-en/guide/l ... ff98b7/mac
and the MIDI routing in Logic, can sometimes be complex and cumbersome. Routing MIDI signals between different tracks, instruments, and plugins can involve several steps and settings. This complexity can be especially evident when dealing with intricate setups or trying to achieve specific routing configurations.

Way less clutter than at the time I demo'ed it a looong time ago. Might have a look again :)
Although I wouldn't really know what for.
For making tracks I have Live and Renoise. Logic I used to make music in, but it just isn't my thing .... But for recording it's ace. I wouldn't know where to fit REAPER.
I'm set actually

^^^ Playing with the 7.0.0pre versions, the UI framerate definitely appears higher compared to the 6.x.x versions – worth checking out

It's ok. The guy developing it seems to have no sense of proportions or GUI design or anything like that whatsoever, though.
Why are the elements of the plugin window glued at the bottom of the title bar? Proper spacing does a lot.
Code monkeys are most of the time the least talented GUI designers. It is made by just one guy, right?

Nevermind.

Yes, I believe so, but I don't think you could call him a "Code monkey" as such.

Complete Reaper comes as a package of <15MB.

It shows how much space/MB is wasted by fancy graphics of shiny DAWs.

Post

it is a lot larger when installed though.
i think it was in the ballpark around 130-150MB or so, which of course is still pretty good
