Idk, for bread n butter, still Echoboy for me. Low CPU, pretty feature packed and even though it's technically inferior/less authentic to the recent offerings, I still think it sounds more musical than them. The Soundtoys house sound is pretty nice still to this day.

Thanks. Sounds interesting. I usually prefer exactly the clean delays - they sit perfectly in the mix. I will try it.cryophonik wrote: Wed May 14, 2025 5:53 pmYes and no. The unmasking effect is actually pretty effective at cleaning up the delayed signals and when I compared it to other delays in the same project, it definitely has a lot more clarity when using moderate-high unmasking levels. So, it's not what I would call a "character" delay, except perhaps that its character is simply being very clean and crystal clear.Igro wrote: Wed May 14, 2025 5:26 pmBread and butter clean delay? So it sounds like any digital delay then?cryophonik wrote: Wed May 14, 2025 5:13 amSo far, I love everything about it for a bread-n-butter delay that sounds soooooo clean. I also love that it's freely resizable so I can stretch it to my liking - really nice touch.simon.a.billington wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 9:26 am iZotope just dropped their delay called Cascadia a few days ago.

Hm, that Ripple Delay looks interesting. Must investigate.Digivolt wrote: Wed May 14, 2025 6:34 pm Process Audio Ripple Delay is my go to these days, it's very feature rich, I still use U-He color copy, Valhalla delay, Echoboy and Replika sometimes though

Ripple is great. Really like the sound, GUI and UX philosophy of Process Audio.

You'd think it would sound clean, but not quite. It doesn't sound like tape either. I could out on a limb and say it sounds a bit more like an earlier electronic delay, but not quite either.Igro wrote: Wed May 14, 2025 5:26 pmBread and butter clean delay? I'm thinking its somewhere between that and a clean digital delay, but when you engage Unmask that also imparts a bit of a characteristic sound.
