Also, bear in mind that you are not limited to macros, so can use pretty much any of the modulators at the global level. So for instance you could have a single switch that mutes a whole bunch of tracks and unmutes others with a single press, or a MSEG or LFO which could modulate filters and FX parameters on a multitude of tracks together. So many possibilities.bboxdw wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 1:35 amI suppose that's one way of thinking about it. Macro knobs and other modulators at the project level are not confined to a particular group, track, or device, but rather can control any modulation targets at any of those lower levels anywhere within that particular project. (Alongside, of course, being able to control project-level modulation targets.)xmstkvr wrote: Tue Aug 26, 2025 6:06 amThanks, guys. So, is it ok in my head to view this feature as a "parent" controller system to a "child" subsystem of controls? Bascially, a one giant knob that controls other knobs somewhere in the project is that it?bboxdw wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 9:28 pmBy modulating a single project-level macro knob with another project-level modulator, it's possible to apply (and easily change/adjust) identical volume ducking to several tracks or groups of tracks, or to accent certain beats to enhance the groove (e.g., by opening the filter on one track, increasing the volume on another, increasing distortion or other effect on another).

Actually I might skip this release anyway - nothing that really excites me so far from what is announced tbh. I'll stay on 5 till something compels me to upgrade.

Can be a while. I think Bitwig 5 had more than ten betas. I'd think end of the year maybe.Rickskii wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 11:05 am How long is the beta? Anyone know. My plan is up on the 8th September.

It doesn't matter, if you have a plan when the beta drops you get the full version whenever it launches.Rickskii wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 11:05 am How long is the beta? Anyone know. My plan is up on the 8th September.

I am holding out hope that they will take their own swing at a drum replacer, polyphonic tuning editor, and automatic phase matched waveform stretching/alignment editor. Won't hold my breath. But I will hold some hope...
