And we also know that it is not an impossible mission to architect a scalable system, especially knowing the busy periods upfront. I'm aware that the products involve multi gigabyte libraries, but I also do know, that in a distributed system the file servers are not the same instances as the database or public websites. The whole system shitting itself so badly for DAYS shows that they can't or won't afford a scalable solution.

I'm glad I've got in on the deal, but the experience with the poor infrastructure left a bad taste.

OK, someone one BPB has posted that their redeem slots have reappeared, so I'll stick to my 'not getting hysterical' line, and hope this is a glitch.
This is a mess though. There has always been a lot of IK bashing, which is often rather OTT, but this looks really bad and they've really messed this up.
Hopefully this will right itself today.

Have some patience. You will be able to redeem everything. And you still have a full month to do so.
All redeem slots are back up btw.

I would really appreciate a PM if anyone has successfully used the Plugin Boutique Amplitude 5 route successfully in the last 2 days. Is that still possible? Any other hints via PM for a cheap way to get into the promotion are also highly appreciated.

Thanks. I took the upgrade and it seems to work the same.dionenoid wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 7:57 pm Pick T-Racks 6 Pro (not the update)
Get the following plugins :
- Bass One
- Triad Chorus
- Quad Saturator
- Lurssen Mastering EQ
- Prism Reverb
The rest of your T-Racks 5 Max plugins will automatically be on V6 after installation, so you don't need the updated versions, only the new ones. And then you'll have the equivalent of T-Racks 6 Max.

It is certainly just a glitch indeed - mine (those slots I didn't use yet) are still available.kevingham wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 10:26 am I'm not one to vendor bash on here, but this is incredibly shady by IK. This really feels like a 'bait and switch' since they allowed the PB Amplitube deal to run for a week, and they will have been well aware of this loophole the whole time (it's all over the forums, and it's not like PB are a small reseller), then after at least 10K customers paid for it, pulled the rug from under everyone.
I claimed about half of the slots, then thought I'll leave the rest until the server issues are resolved, thinking I was doing IK a favour by not hammering the downloads at the same time as everyone else was doing so.
I'm happy to not be hysterical and give them the benefit of the doubt, hoping it's a glitch and everyone's redeem slots appear back, but I get the feeling this is intentional.
And personally tbh I don't get all this angst and mimimi over some temporary site issues due to servers being hammered relentlessy. "Get a life", I'm frankly inclined to say.

It wasn't a glitch at all, it was intentional and confirmed by IK on their own forum. But I suppose that the backlash was growing fast and they decided to back off.

Yeah, wait until everything is sorted out until you get too worried. Right now, it's IK Multimedia who need to be worried, because it's their infastructure that has been down for 4 days or so now and the group buy is still running with only a few days to go. They really want to get things sorted out ASAP, particularly to ensure that new customers feel well taken cared of. An outage this long and this severe is definitely not a good look, and as mentioned above, there are scaleable solutions out there to deal with exactly these eventualities. It's not like these are issues without off-the-shelf solutions.
On my end, the Product Manager is still not working and the products I redeemed shortly before the servers went poof are stil AWOL. But I'm not going to worry about it until the system has been restored to how it's supposed to work. If things still aren't working then, that's when I'll start mailing support yadda yadda.
Patience is a virtue!
As for the PB route, not sure if that was ever meant to work - the full versions of Amplitube and TONEX seem to be explicitly excluded from the group buy on the promotion page. But the wording was so unclear from the get go, that even that is only speculation.

Do you have a link to the corresponding post? I couldn't find anything when I've searched for something like that yesterday.Nantho wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 1:30 pm It wasn't a glitch at all, it was intentional and confirmed by IK on their own forum. They've now started deleting redeems of people who used the HAPPYDIWALI06 code (now disabled) to buy Sampletank 4 from Plugin Boutique.

Just to offer some perspective, it's entirely possible that the intentional part was IK meaning to remove that product from the group buy and an unintended side effect of that was the system removing the option to redeem the free plugins from the people who already purchased it. We'll just have to wait and see.
That being said, I didn't participate in this group buy particularly because I was getting really sketchy vibes from the way it was being handled. First was all of the confusing things about what qualifies, what an "upgrade version" was, people having some plugins they already owned greyed out but not others, etc.
But I was kind of appalled when they raised the necessary number of purchases after the group buy had already started. Peter's explanation made perfect sense, but it still seemed like a totally unacceptable thing to do, since people made purchases under different conditions. Then he made a post either on here or another forum all but saying that they would ensure the targets would be met and everybody would get the maximum number of plugins, before backpedaling on that later when sales slowed down.
This is an incredible deal, no doubt. And I think when all's said and done, everybody will be happy. But for me it just wasn't worth all the uncertainty and risk, especially at a time in my life when I don't have the time available to monitor the situation, troubleshoot potential issues, and go back and forth with support.

Does this mean Sampletank 4 is excluded from the Group Buy now? I was able to grab it on PB while the code still worked but I am not shown anything in the Promotions section of my account.LexxisAgenda wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 1:55 pm They've now started deleting redeems of people who used the HAPPYDIWALI06 code (now disabled) to buy Sampletank 4 from Plugin Boutique.

I'd keep checking your promotions page every few hours, based on what's been said on the IK forum.Bender-Offender wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 2:21 pm Does this mean Sampletank 4 is excluded from the Group Buy now?
