I want the first rtas version to be as rock solid as possible. The Juce framework has done a fantastic job so for in allowing me to write the vst and au versions with minimal bugs and great functionality. It's a great tool and the person that wrote it is a talented coder. It's just a shame that the rtas code isn't quite as solid as the vst and au, but I hope with the help of the Juce community to make it so.

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply, I take you mean as you state "within the next 2 weeks?"andy_cytomic wrote:http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 29#3575929ha33y wrote:Andy, when are you expecting this to come out of demo mode to a full vst release?

Sorry if I asked a silly question but the comments that followed that post also say that you are having problems with the RTAS version, so I wasn't sure whether or not the original comment still stood.
Anyhow I am interested in buying this so I guess I should wait for the final release?
Many thanks, well done and keep up the good work.

Juce is working brilliantly for the vst and au versions, but the rtas code needs some work. Since I am less in control of the time frame for fixing this code I will not delay the launch of the web page waiting for the bug fixes to the rtas version. Anyone buying The Glue now, or at any stage, will receive the rtas version as soon as it's ready.
All the best,

Warning!
A bug has been confirmed with using d16 plugins that use the Juce framework (all their silverline and the beta of some of their other stuff) and The Glue. This has been fixed and will be available soon for download, but I just wanted to give people the heads up. I have added the issue to the "known issues" on the beta info page.

Ok understood, well I am not interested in the RTAS only the vst so it don't bother me. So I will buy this as soon as you have released the full (hopefully bug free) versionandy_cytomic wrote:Juce is working brilliantly for the vst and au versions, but the rtas code needs some work. Q - is it possible to make sidechain HP filter go up to, say, 8kHz?
It'll makes a nice deEsser out of Glue. Of course I can use external sidechain, but that sometimes is a hassle if you need to create external key-track for every vocal track in the session.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind for the v1.1, but for now there is enough work getting the web page and rtas version ready to keep me busy.meloco_go wrote:Q - is it possible to make sidechain HP filter go up to, say, 8kHz?

Hi Andy,
I had a long session using the Glue yesterday. Well, I'm not a professional but I enjoyed it very much. I really think, that is a great sounding tool - which I still have to explore much more. But certainly an absolute no-brainer at its price, wonderful!!!
But there isn't a day without the night.
I played a lot with side-chaining (yes, the plain simple boring and annoying way of the 'swedish house mafia' ... Lord Of The Copies: 'Gollum Me - bum - bum - bum - Gol - lum -- Gollum Me .....'
).
One thing I was really missing is a better resolution for Attack, Release and MakeUp for in-between adjustments. Yes, sometimes a release value somewhere between -2 and -1 is what is required. And I really do think those setting restrictions are reducing the power of this great tool without a real need.
Is there any chance the resolution of the internal parameters will be changed for the finer with any upcoming release?
Cheers,
LiteOn

I have no plans to change the fixed attack and release settings for The Glue, but this sort of thing is definitely a possibility for future products.
As for all dB settings you can change them to a very fine precision by holding down the "alt" key while dragging. Currently I only display rounded values to the nearest dB but internally they are stored at full precision. I am will update the display of dB to round to the nearest 0.5 for the next release.

Would it be much more work to display with a resolution down to .1 or even .01? There have already been a few posts that indicate users aren't picking up on the fact that the resolution is much higher than displayed. People are assuming it's working in 1db steps, even though you don't hear any stepping when increasing the output gain. It might be best to just show the full resolution.andy_cytomic wrote:

Cool, didn't knew that. Good that they will be displayed finer in the next update.
