I don't think it is Bitwig that sends All Notes Off. At the moment I am not sure why it is sent. I will check this shortly.

I just ran into a problem with the "enter chords from your MIDI keyboard" feature. Here are the steps:

Start a new project.
Click the first chord in the Master Track and choose "enter chords from your MIDI keyboard"
Play in the following chords: B-D-F#-B, D-D-F#-A, E-B-E, F#-F#-A
Exit chord entry mode and click each of the chords in the Master Track (assuming chord preview is turned on). The first three chords sound fine, but the last one (F#-F#-A) is voiced starting in the lowest octave. You can hear this and also see it when you display the chord voicing editor.

If you do the same steps but play the F#-F#-A chord first, it is voiced normally! It's something to do with the order you play the chords in. And it doesn't matter whether "Jump to next chord after chord entry from MIDI keyboard" is on or off.

(Please note that these chords are in the B minor blues scale, but it doesn't matter what you set RC's scale to, the behavior is the same leaving RC at the default C Major.)

Hi Attila,

Is it possible to add the midi learn to the convert to phrase generators section. so that way you can use the midi learn function on patterns already created inside RC or wen you import a whole song into rc having the ability to right click on tracks and convert that phrase to midi learn generator. (markov generator)

I don't know if it's a bug but why is it when you apply rhythm you lose the original velocity, is it possible to either add the feature to apply velocity from MIDI file or have it where it doesn't affect the MIDI file when applying rhythm.

Can any body help with this.

I'm not sure why this works like this or if it can be fix. I've watch quite a few music theory videos and the Converters in RC don't work in the same way, but I feel it's an important part when it comes to making melodies and chord progressions gel together, as demonstrated in this video shouldn't rc work in the same way when converting melody to chord generator. Ideally it should be able to take all the notes in a bar of each melody and make a chord from those notes for each bar.
I've tried this with several different melodies and all RC gives you are random chord in that scale .
I've even tried going to variations and adding chord notes that doesn't work well.

I often stay away from RC phrase Converters as you'll never get the same results as the original phrase but with all of the other softwares on the market that are competing with RC surely having Converters that work according to the same music theory as the original phrase should be standard.

Hi,
I'm evaluating RapidComposer (Mac Edition) and I really like it. I'd love to buy it before the winter sale ends, but too many crushes are keeping me from committing to it.

One that I'm able to reproduce (it happens every time) is simply this:

* Launch stand-alone RapidComposer
* Click on Melody Editor
* Resize the first measure

It also happens on the VST version (tested in Logic, it crashed the whole host).

It doesn't matter how much I resize it or if I shrink or expand it, the program crashes. This is the crash report

1. Crash when drag phrase to browser with Alt.
2. Crash when drag generators.
Don't have crashes on new composition. Need just drop few phrases. Sometimes UI freeze after that.

This bug has been fixed for a long time. I don't know how it happened that the fix was not included in the stable version... If all goes well, v4.3 will be uploaded in a few days, on December 13.

If you'd like to evaluate the latest beta version, I'd gladly send it to you.
