A: creamy, dense, more body lower end.
Worth paying for? Maybe...

Did you form your opinion before you knew which one was A which one was B ?
I'm not hearing $169 worth of difference there. Or $189 if you only have the free version of Vital.

The cpu difference in cpu with gui on and gui off is the same even on init. Which makes sense really.

The filters sound completely different, as well as the EQ being obviously entirely different. Serum sounds tight/compact and Vital loose and thinner.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Yes and usually I’m not able to do this.Teksonik wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 8:57 pm Did you form your opinion before you knew which one was A which one was B ?

But you can hear the same I think.
Once I mistaken Diva with Serum and actually because I liked what I was hearing and it was Serum.

I don't know how accurate this observation is but from reading posts here and at the Vital forums that Laptop users seem to be reporting more issues with CPU and overall performance.
Not sure if that's actually the case as it's just a casual observation.

Like I said I'm not hearing $189 worth of difference. It would be even less apparent in a Mix.

I had some pretty poor performance on my laptop using Reaper (Windows 10). The laptop is generally pretty bad for audio but it can usually run one instance of a light-on-CPU synth no problems. So maybe there's something to that.Teksonik wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 9:20 pm I don't know how accurate this observation is but from reading posts here and at the Vital forums that Laptop users seem to be reporting more issues with CPU and overall performance.

I'm wondering how do i know that Vital is using my Radeon GPU rather than Intel CPU/GPU (when using it in a DAW)

It could be enough to demo both and see according to personal programming skills and workflow which would yield the desired results.Teksonik wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 9:38 pm Even not in a mix are you telling me what you hear makes you want go spend $189 on Serum ?
It’s not just the mix but the affinity to the synth sounds with your own that matters in the music process.
Don’t you spend, usually, substantial amount of time to tweak to perfection even a simple sound?

Of course. I've tried the Serum demo in the past and never thought it was worth $189. Now even less so but perhaps the effect Vital will have is to lower the price of Serum.
I might be in at $100 but no more.

Can you disable your Intel GPU in the BIOS or UEFI ?Igro wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 9:39 pm I'm wondering how do i know that Vital is using my Radeon GPU rather than Intel CPU/GPU (when using it in a DAW)
