Thank you, just watched it. I do appreciate what he does sonically.Constructed Identity wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 4:01 pmHave you seen this vid. :elxsound wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 2:25 pm Anyone have hands on experience with a Pulsar-23?
I’ve been wanting one but after watching lots of the videos available I can’t tell if it’s worth it.
Part of the problem is seeing some use it to make traditional electronic drums sounds, which doesn’t seem to be its strength (and not needed here).
When I do see creative uses, the sound reminds me of what I can already do with either modular or Syntakt.
Is there something I’m missing?
I feel like Hainbach is my German brother, we would certainly get along with music and gear.
Would already have bought a Lyra 8 if it had midi syncing and didn't have other needs.
One of the things that makes shopping online difficult is that in everyone’s hands it’s different and there also what seems like a decent amount of videos posted by people who were just first to have it.
I wish he did a video on Pulsar 23. Lyra 8 is very interesting too, but not on my radar so much.

Had to look up the Tyme Sefari mk2. Definitely looking forward to any videos/audio posted.justin3am wrote: Fri Sep 09, 2022 8:55 pm I haven't purchased anything recently but I've been doing more asynchronous looping recently, so I plan to bring my Tyme Sefari mk2 and EHX 45000 out of storage. I haven't used either in more than a year, so it's kinda like new gear!

I recently got 8020s + 7040 (following Cryophonic and thecontrolcentre‘s OGs) and I was surprised how loud these things can be if you want it.Constructed Identity wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 7:19 pm...and the AMP is at 11vurt wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 7:00 pm1000 bpm (mobys "thousand") is mental enoughConstructed Identity wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 6:39 pm8040BPM

I’m alway in the quieter range and likely need to make another adjustment on the back.

I have a couple of tracks where I use my Pulsar-23.

Are about as close as I've gotten to typical electronic drum sounds. The kick and bass channels can do a huge range of sounds and the snare and hi-hat channels are pretty versatile too, but I think it would be a mistake to get a Pulsar for sounds you could get with an Elektron box. I often use the kick and bass channels to generate drones, for example. The loopers make it great for wonky beats and the Shaos shift register circuit is ideal for generating controllable variations in rhythms. I've never used my Pulsar-23 with a step sequencer.

Haven't listened to the soundcloud track yet, but that video, ROCKS!!!
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

That’s what I was hoping to hear. I ordered one earlier today and I think it’s going to play nice with what I’ve got.justin3am wrote: Sun Sep 11, 2022 4:16 amI have a couple of tracks where I use my Pulsar-23.
