568 now, we could make it
BTW, I'm not in a hurry, so I'll wait some days to download. One less to choke the servers.

That's sounds marvelous Squidly. Thank you kindly!!Squids wrote:Don't worry. To make up for having to split this in phases you'll all get this anyway - even if we don't hit 600. So relax and sit back. If you want to watch and see if we hit 600 anyway but rest assured you got another prize already added to the pile....
...Does that sound reasonable? It's a lot of stuff to a lot of people. I think if we do it that way it will be best for everyone.
Go to the GB sign up page. There are audio demos for those multitrack kits at the top of the listening list: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... ode=USDKVRebow wrote:any chance that we will be able to hear audio demos of the kits that are available as choice options so we can be best informed about the multitrack kits that would suit us best ??

An angry tiger inside! Lol. Great story.rocketeer wrote:Firstly, I second the Matt Chamberlain drum idea, I'm surprised someone mentioned it first! I saw him with Garbage (Vig was sick) and Tori Amos and he was amazing. He had this crazy super deep kick thing that sounded awesome. Funny that I wasn't a fan of hers but I saw her live and the band was brilliant.
Secondly, I have another Not-Nearly-As-Interesting-As-Squidz-Story.
My brother was down from DC (I'm here in Miami- Squid Country) and we were eating at our local favorite Asian place (the sadly defunct Asian World Fusion on Biscayne, Squidz- if they knew you, they'd hook you up!), and we were talking music and hitting the sakes back, and the topic turned to the then-latest Duran Duran album (sorry, guys, we're old new wavers!). Anyway, we were commenting on how terrible it was, produced by Timbaland and well, just godawful. The whole time, there's this guy at the counter waiting for his order, and he hears us buzzedly insulting everyone involved with the album (in a jovial without-malice way) and walks over and says...
"You talking about the last Duran Duran album?"
"Yes" I say, "it sucks" says my brother, laughing.
"I mixed that album," says the man.
Long Pause.
"Are you Jimmy Douglas?" I say. He sure is.
"F#%^%!" my brother says.
Yes, Jimmy Douglas, multi-grammy nominated credits-twenty-miles-long brilliant engineer/producer destroyer of worlds Jimmy Douglas. And we were ragging on his work, and he busted us!
Being the gracious guy he is, he says "well, it's not the mix that sucks, right?" Are you kidding me?! At this point I was looking for a small hole to crawl in, preferably with an angry tiger inside.
After telling him that it sounds fine (of course it does!) and that I know his work (even though it's not really my cup of tea, he did engineer Television's Marquee Moon and to a post-punker like me, that's ace, it's just his later work...), and congratulations on the Al Green Grammy nomination, everything was happy again, and we chatted a bit and he got his food and was heading out.
As we were saying our awkward goodbyes, my brother says "the Duran album still sucks though." I had to smile.
Moral of the story: I don't know. Don't drink and talk?!
Anyway, I've just discovered Squidz Rare Instruments collection and I want them and I'm broke, so if someone could give me some epoints I'd appreciate it. Yes, I'm reduced to begging. But they sound good!
Bump!
