What if it takes another 6 months for the release? will you hold up making music then?

BWS will be a version 1 release, so there will probably be a lot of stuff that you will miss compared to ableton..(just suggestion btw)

so if you urge for a DAW like this, then go for live now, try BWS later and if you like it, then sell your live license..

group tracks came into live with version 9, so one also can do music and mixing without them..

@cft That is not all of thomas's posts before you posted, unless I just messed up my search. I'm 99% sure Thomas said something about group tracks, but I don't feel like looking for it. Yes there is fx grouping. Thomas actually answered that very recently after I asked it (and earlier that I admit I forgot about...). That may not answer each point but if you had read that stuff you could have asked a more specific question that might have been answered.

What, no they didn't. But other points are somewhat unequivocal
Brzzzzzzt.

I have a decision to make, and these questions are the final ones, the final ones before the last boss(the decision for bitiwg or ableton), so please help me!

I really need the answers!
Email BITWIG and ask your question.....if they don't answer you they will have answered a different question.

Beta testers don't work for BW, they don't have to answer you, they don't represent the product and the product us just a beta- features may change before the final issue, so if this particular feature is Important to you, you will have to wait for a release version.

Already done!

But they cant answer all my questions ;)

After the 6th mail they quit answering my questions, which are all important! :)

So the two important questions I asked, are not answered.... :(

Someone know them, please?

Very well stated Suloo.

@crazyfiltertweaker

Even the best and most tested version 1.0 of anything from whatever software company will have hickups. Or "unforseen features".
If you are a professional, you will NOT rely on it for production or live use before you can test it extensively on your OWN system. Not. Ever.

Secondly: Everybody uses things so differently, that even if a certain feature you think is extremely important exists, something else may not or you may not like how it works - a thousand things can still go wrong. You need to work with it yourself to find that out.

And finally: Even if I answer another 5000 questions in atomic detail (which I wont) it will not help you:
Recently there was the discussion about handles/value fields for audio fade in and fade out. And they were actually removed (I don't know why) in the latest beta.
This is NOT final software and things may still change.
Or the other way around: ATM there are no user-creatable track-groups but the final version may or may not have them...
I simply don't know that.

This is also the reason why normally testers aren't allowed to talk about beta software at all.
That BW gave us the freedom to talk about it in such detail is actually pretty cool and courageous of them IMO.

So yes, if you like Live, if it does what you need and you need it now, I strongly suggest picking it up.
Should be a very relaxing move ;-)

See, even the known problems in Live have one big benefit: they ARE known. And a lot of people know about Live and may have workarounds and can help you. Heck, sometimes it's even helpful to know that something is broken so you don't waste time banging your head against it. For BWS, very little such information exists. Only over time this knowledge will grow.

And one more point that is independent from BWS:
It is simply impolite and unfriendly to demand answers in the way you do in a forum from other users. It's like running into a shop, ignoring all other customers standing in line already and shouting demands at the people behind the counter...

Everybody is waiting for a long time for BWS to be released.

And if the whole thing is so very important for you, I simply don't understand why you don't read the whole thread, cat's and all, in the first place BEFORE you start shouting at people?

This is a very good way to piss people off.

Cheers,

Tom
