Well, not everyone is having all the issues that people reported here.

I am on Windiows 10 64-bit with different hosts like e.g. Live 9.7 64-bit, Cubase Pro 8.5.20 64-bit, Studio One 3.3 64-bit, Bitwig Studio 1.3.14, Reaper 4.78 and Pro Tools 12.5.2 and no crashes while scanning the plugins here (VST2, VST3 and AAX).
The plugin is also working here and the factory content seems to install and work properly too. Resizing works too here and saving/laoding my own patches too (got a beta key file here, not a demo).

The key file works here and i know the location of it where i could remove and/or replace it when necessary.

Also no GPU overheating here with 2 different Radeon HD graphics cards.

Drag & drop of content files from teh Windows Explorer is possible too while here in Windows but for this you have to start the host without administrator rights (which is an option when starting a program)

I guess this is a big worry for me, Ingo. It seems just too unpredictable as to what may or may not happen when installed and opened. I'm not bashing the synth, I'd just like to feel relatively confident that I am not going to initiate some catastrophic hardware failure when I do. I can wait.

Point is, on version 1.0.21 macOS the Multi-Channel is not working (just spitting noise) and the search option works until the results are displayed but can't load a search result then there's nvidia GPU (terrible) issue.

Is any of these fixed in 1.0.22? (I retired over weekend somewhere with only slow mobile internet, planned to play with Avenger but it kind of plays me for now :(

On 1.0.22 on mac, I can perform a preset text search and then load a preset from the resulting list. The preset artist filter also works now.

So 1.0.22 has been released? Any changelog??

I'm confused how this synth can fry a computer? I ran Prime95 for a good hour on my computer and even that didn't fry it. I can promised you that is WAY more stressful than this synth could ever be. Sounds like people are freaking out because their fans are coming on? :hihi:

Well Phalanx is at version 1.5.8 and is still very buggy!

+1. this synth won't fry a pc. Unless there is something wrong with the pc to begin with.

They changed the price on Phalanx. This year I bought (a buggy) Phalanx Premium for 250 euro! And no crossgrade for Phalanx users. Maybe I should stick with companies who do care about their existing customers.

Unless you have a fanless graphics card (me) and it develops a high pitched whine after Avenger heats it up to 90C/194F!

Not cool (pun intended).

Ok guys, give the developers a break.
Give the error reports, so that they can sort it out and be adult about it.
I'm sure in about a few versions this Synth will be perfect.

Now that I'm investigating, all Vengeance products run the same.

Vengeance products with sequencer off (so basically just the GUI open)
Avenger: 50 fps / 80% GPU
Phalanx: 14 fps / 30-50% GPU
Scope: 26 fps / 30-50% GPU
Multiband Sidechain: 22 fps / 30-50% GPU
Serum (GUI on, sequencer running): 60 fps / GPU fluctuates between 30% and 80% most of the times settles at 50%.

So I think Vengeance lacks optimisations under macOS. Given the fact that all previous VPS products run the same, I suppose the programmer doesn't quite care about mac, after all Msvs uses windows himself, it's hard to spot these annoyances on mac.

Im a bit stunned with all the whining in this thread. I thought the KVR Audio forum members were a bit more professional than this.

Why not simply test the software as much as possible? Give out the system specs and help out to reproduce all the issues instead?

The more bugs we find and manage to reproduce the faster they can start fixing them.

MSVS isnt the programmer. Rene from Keilwerth is. Among others.

Nah, I'm demoing Avenger in Win7/Reaper. Getting similar GPU readings. Other vst's I tested only use 1-2% of the GPU.

The resizable vector GUI is beautiful, but has to be optimised.

Maybe because many users are now unintentionally paid beta tester?! It's not about whining because there are some bugs. Some can't even open the plugin without problems. Others have to quit using it due to these circumstances. There are many things that won't work well and should have been fixed before releasing and selling a product...

But I'm looking forward they'll use the weekend fixing and optimizing :ud:

Post

Unintentionally paid beta tester is nonsense when there is a full DEMO you can run as long as you like until you are happy it works for you. Try before you buy, if you don't like bugs, don't but the week of release...just wait or use the FREE DEMO and (if you are interested) report the bugs in a sensible manner (i.e. with your full specification, computer type, graphics card type, DAW etc)

Maybe we should start another thread for those of us who are using it quite happily and wish to discuss programing/features? This thread is a mess! I second whoever said start a forum on KVR for this beast, it merits it....sure we need bug reports (its only been out a couple of days) but we also need feature requests, tips etc- its all getting lost in this thread.

Here is a feature request, can we add 'Favourite' to the list of tags or have a star or whatever to mark favourites. :tu:

(Oh, and for what its worth, I get no additional CPU usage under windows Radeon GTX980 in silent mode)
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
