It is a mess. Perhaps one better - can Vengeance get a subforum going here?SLiC wrote:Maybe we should start another thread for those of us who are using it quite happily and wish to discuss programing/features? This thread is a mess!

I was a bit surprised myself... I'm sure the devs are working hard to fix the bugs.lavizh wrote:Im a bit stunned with all the whining in this thread.
Avenger is probably the most feature laden synth I've seen so far. The sound is great and it's very easy to use(which I can't say for Falcon). There's some serious thought been put into the usability, flexibility and features. The possibilities are endless!
Personally, I've had nothing major except a few cpu spikes with parameter changes. That doesn't bother really bother me.

Well, yeah, maybe the gui should be downscaled using pre-calculation, instead doing this 60 times a second live.... Although I wonder that even this causes so much load....

Okay yeah, so this just happened again on an init preset changing filters. Not pretty.Touch The Universe wrote:My speakers almost blew up for a second, very loud and crackles even after stopping audio engine. I had to restart daw and couldn't reproduce, thankfully.

Just a tip: modulating modulation depth is done by assigning the modulator to the respective slot in the matrix, so if e.g. ModEnv1 controls formant shift, set the depth to 0 in the matrix, then assign e.g. velocity to that slot and set the modulation depth in there, then velocity control the amount of formant modulation via the envelope.

For what it's worth, this is running fine on my PC (Win10, 16gb RAM, i7 4770k).
And I'm loving it - already created some sounds I've never got close to in any other synth. The FFT section in particular is probably worth the full price for me - something I've always wanted to do but never really had the opportunity to. Being able to reduce the fundamental by a couple of DB when layering mid basses is an awesome mixing tool, and modulating the hell out of a nice mountain/valley shape = instant Tipper bass squelch goodness.

If I want to import hundreds of wavetable in-wav-format I made with/for Serum/Falcon do I really have to drag them in the Resample area one by one, or is there a way to batch convert them to the Avenger format, which uses it's own format with .table/.tune-endings?
Doing in in the file menu is not possible, as Avenger detects everything with a .wav-ending as multi-samples not wavetables.

Can has NKS? (Native-Instr.)
To always have matching macro-names on the KK-keyboard-displays. + Maybe access to filter/amp-ENVs.. + Browsing from hardware.
Page 1:
3 Macroknobs, 2 Macrobuttons + Modw.CC1/Expression/Aftertouch = 8 Knobs (or Filter/Env-stuff if possible)
-------------------
I use W10 64Bit - i7 - SSD - Nvidia GTX750
-Cubase latest: No problems with performance. (CPU/GPU)
-Maschine2 latest: No probs with performance. But after ~1 hour it liked to crash the session.

On a positive note, Avenger didn't crash yet on my system (Cubase 8.5 on Windows 10). I recognize a lot of the nice Phalanx features, even the waveshapes. Modulation system and resampling are simply brilliant. It encourages to experiment and come up with interesting sounds. Even the depth of modulation can be modulated! Avenger has decent filters and samples.
Wishlist
a preset system for AMP and Filter (like in Phalanx)
better sample import (if they would do that, no one would buy Phalanx)
quicker preset loading
CPU load could be much lower (Phalanx also needs to be optimized)
It's easy to create the Vengeance sound with it (the AA reverb and delay are turned on when initialized). No creamy analog sounds here.
As a Phalanx user I hope that they will not forget to update Phalanx (msvs:
"yes, we indeed plan to give Phalanx an (free) update with the new DrumSequencer, new FX types etc, once Avenger is released"). But they lowered the price of Phalanx and that isn't a very good sign.
Conclusion: nice synth that needs some updates. I'll first wait for an free update to Phalanx before I buy another product from Vengeance Sound.

Turn off the LP filter (engaged via velocity by default), switch of delay/reverb.Caine123 wrote:one question, atm demoin more finally, i dunno why the sound of a simple saw detuned is not so bright and tight sounding like in rapid?

Try the NEXLP24 filter, with drive off, but set to the drive+oversample variantCaine123 wrote:one question, atm demoin more finally, i dunno why the sound of a simple saw detuned is not so bright and tight sounding like in rapid?
